- We made a seed winnowing machine from scraps around the farm using a design published by www.realseeds.co.uk/seedclean.... It's going to save us a lot of time for cleaning seeds, especially smaller seeds. This is a short video of our first test run with some oil seed sunflower seeds that we needed to clean. The shop vac was donated by a friend, so this project was quite literally $0 budget.

This is an absolute must given the weevil invested garbage that Pennington is passing off as quality wild bird seed: I would suggest returning the 80% weevil munched.

I got a vacuum cleaner about 10 years ago for AU$100 that had a slide knob on the top that changed the engine speed hence changing the suction level. In this scenario you would save power instead of just having a flap at the back.

It's very easy to make yourself. The other version is a fan and a bit of metal like a half tube that the fan sits slightly inside. The tube is on an angle of about 30 degrees and the junk blows out the top end and the bottom end you have a bucket under and get your good seed in.
