1:33 what if Celestia is so fond of plays because they remind her of her friends from her youth, who have long since passed away. Plays always bring back good memories of them
I know a lot of people wanted it (myself included) but it really was refreshing to see a celestia-centered episode that really focused on her as a character and just seeing her have fun
What an episode to followup on after the previous one, this was fun! Celestia really made it great, from her bursting joyfulness, Royal Canterlot voice and everything else that followed. Also, Fluttershy is best Celestia cosplayer!
That’s great most shows you barley meet the leader you only see them when they’re at work being strict it’s nice to see a show where they show the leader as a person not just there to give orders to the protagonist
I feel like the first bits of the episode can only be described as "knee-slapper" only thing I didn't get was Luna acting like a over zealous aunt going " OH THAT"S MY NEPHEW! OH ISN'T HE SO TALENTED! HI SWEETIE!!!! ITS YOUR AUNTIE!!"
Also, this episode made me hope even more for an episode that focuses on just Fluttershy and Starlight. Ever since Starlight has joined the group, she always seems to have the easiest relationship with Fluttershy (outside of Twilight, that is), here in this ep they hang out more than ever. So it'd be fun to have an adventure where its just the two of them hanging out. X)
I've never seen anyone bring this up, but there's a similarity between Fluttershy and Starlight as well. They both suffered from severe insecurity from something they went though as fillies. Fluttershy was always picked on by bullies and it killed whatever confidence she did have in herself back then as a filly, and Starlight had her best, and seeming only, friend leave and got left behind, and became really scared that it could happen again. They just handed it in totally different ways: Fluttershy became extremely shy with nearly no confidence in herself at all, and always tried to run away from her fears whenever she could. Starlight "ran" from her fears too, but by learning to use magic to take away ponies' Cutie Marks because she blamed Cutie Marks for "losing" Sunburst. With Cutie Marks gone she thought she wouldn't lose friends again and even got it in her head that it's for ponies' own good, because she'd give them "equality", making it a win-win for her. We saw in a number of Starlight's episodes that whenever she thought she was at risk of being rejected and/or lose friends, she either fell back on using spells in ways to try to prevent it (and ended up backfiring in her face BADLY) or she tried to avoid facing it, usually by ducking her friendship lessons altogether. Avoiding to face fears was something Fluttershy used to do a LOT, so there could've even been an Starlight & Fluttershy episode in season 6, possibly early season 7, where Fluttershy tries to help Starlight face and/or get over her fear of losing friends or being rejected.
Starlight got along well with Spike too, and she even opened up to him the most about her fears (except maybe Trixie) which we saw in the Season 6 premiere and in "Every Little Thing She Does", so i wouldn't mind seeing an Starlight & Spike episode
Since I can't see the MLP episodes until they come out on Netflix, I'm literally watching them for the first time on your channel, and having a blast with both them, and your commentary! Keep up the great work :D Edit: Also, aren't play voyeurs called 'the audience'?
That was the best episode in seoson 8 I swear I couldn't stop laughing especially flutter shy she was so adorable when celestia told her to act as celestia I couldn't stop it was just to adorable who else agrees
21:10 😂 Luna! Couldn't you just pretend you didn't know anything. Celestia better drop that sun wherever she rose it from. Cause it's Luna time when stars are out. 😂
This ep was AMAZING, and so glad to see Competent-Lestia and showing what a great leader she is. Sure, she's not the one out there beating the bad guys, but that ins't a ruler's job, she is amazing at what is really needed, knowing what is needed to fix a problem, and getting the right ponies to work on it quickly.
Celestia:IT IS TIME FOR A NEW DAY IN EQUESTRIA!! Twilight sparkle: uhmm... Luna: Sister...i think you need to calm down.. Everybody: *eats chips and popcorn*
I'm so happy that the show is sharing information I've read in Journal of the Two Sisters ^-^ Which included that part of equestrian history of the pony races, and how 5 unicorns were required to raise and lower the sun. Star Swirl being the only one powerful enough to retain his magic after performing the spell with the others and assist day after day whilst the other unicorns sadly lost their magic permanently.
Blank Check: Even Fluttershy’s like: ‘Spike, get your butt out there’. *A few seconds later* Spike: *Get’s threw back behind the stage* Good news: Free food! Me: (In my head): Ok first, Spike, you HAD to get your butt out there but failed. Second, FREE FOOD FROM ANGRY AUDIENCE?! OH COME ON! IS THERE MORE?!
I bet Luna would be good at this and I love celestias characterization. Also I love the new storyboarders who make silly faces and the new once an episode "ohhhh pinky".
I love how they’re establishing this down-to-earth part of Celestia - she’s not just some distant deity, she can be just like everyone else.. I also just really enjoyed how bad she is at acting and how great she was at setting the scene 😊
It's weird how I spent the last few days checking alll my favorite reaction channels to see if they uploaded this episode yet, and then most of them just pop up on the same day.
Only raising the sun for 1111 years? Huh, and here I thought she was multi-thousand years old. Celestia: I have no acting experience at all (me: buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullshit! I've seen how you troll) Luna (at the end): wtf is she doing.
.......pfftt hahahahhahahahahahah hahahahha oh my hahahahahah oh my gawd!!!!! seeing Celestia do that giddy prance in place, then do a skipping prance was so CUTE!
Watching your reaction is my first time seeing the episode, most of these episodes have been slightly dull to me, although they have plenty of funny and great moments, I have just been finding it hard to watch them all the way through, but your commentary helps alot so THANK YOU
While I completely agree that this is a fun episode, I have to call pony pies on the fact that Celestia can't act. She is a princess! A figurehead! A politician! She literally acts all day every day! Case and point: Season 7 Episode 10, A Royal Problem.
After watching this episode, the 2017 movie, all the times Twilight neglected Spike, remembering No Second Prances, and Shadow Play parts 1 and 2, it has come to my realization that Twilight has proven herself unworthy of being a princess.
So... the sun was either early in the rising or late in the setting. That's probably why Luna was annoyed. She was like: wtf, girl don't throw off the world's systems for a play! (Remember that other places such as the Everfree forest, the weather there is like our weather.) lol Still a funny little detail though.
1:01 okay, Celestia and Luna took over the duties of moving the sun and moon a little over a 100 years before shit hit the fan (Sombra, Discord and, of course, Nightmare Moon)? Okay then. 7:04 okay, that's actually really dark, when you think about it. How many unicorns had to give up their magic forever each and every day? I'm shocked that the unicorns even survived before Celestia came along
Do wonder how the Unicorns are even able to project their power considering their consistent loss of magic users. Especially to the Earth Ponies who could outnumber them.
Tridashie has a another friendship is musical it doesn't have a season... and it's my FAVOURITE Musical!!!😀😀Because it has a "Horseplay" scene and it plays "Let the bodies hit the floor" IT'S JUST COOL!!!
To be honest, this was one of the best episodes ever and a definite Top 3. The only noticeable flaws were Starlight acting out of the character shown in S7 E10 and Raspberry Beret not cited in the credits. This was a perfect balance of all writing elements and animation cues.
Wonderful episode
Blank Slate I have a question HOW DID CELESTIA NOT NOTICE HER OWN SITER IN THE ORDENCEN
Blank Slate I agree, I love the episode as well, especially as a Theater dude myself
Blank Slate my favorite of Season 8 so far
Glad you got it up Hasbro won't let me put mine up they denied it and keep it blocked.
Wishing you and I got to join the cartoon itself
21:10
Luna: Sister you manipulated the sun for a play, A PLAY!
OMG so true only for a play celestia lol 😂
I died wasn't flutershy adorable when celestia told futter shy to act as celestia
"Sis, if you're a sunbro, why are you invading my night, my very world?"
And sister why would u raise the sun in my night probably you wouldn't even let me raise the moon in the middle of the day
Anime Addict AND in the movie she did not even do that AND THE OTHER TIME TWILLIGHT ASKED
7:45 Louder.
7:54 Louder!!
8:11 LOUDER!!!!
8:20 Too loud?
ChaosContrl yay
21:09 Luna's freaking pissed
Luna: Sure, Celestia can raise the Sun as early as she wants but, when I raise the Moon earlier I get banished.
Emerald Meadow Luna you still have put it down. We need sunshine too which we can't have with you blocking it.
1:33 what if Celestia is so fond of plays because they remind her of her friends from her youth, who have long since passed away. Plays always bring back good memories of them
AAAAAAH SADNESS!!!
SOMEONE GET ME A BOX OF TISSUES 😢
...That was, deep
I know a lot of people wanted it (myself included) but it really was refreshing to see a celestia-centered episode that really focused on her as a character and just seeing her have fun
Seeing Celestia like that in the opening. 😍😍😍😍😍 I died inside
The pun you were looking for was 'Bridleway'. They mentioned it when they went to see Hinny of the Hills.
What an episode to followup on after the previous one, this was fun! Celestia really made it great, from her bursting joyfulness, Royal Canterlot voice and everything else that followed. Also, Fluttershy is best Celestia cosplayer!
Call me stupid because I actually fell for Celestia's little prank at the end of the episode
same, stupid
Trollestia is canon
Rodrigo Jalca Cañarte+ OMGOSH, YES!
We're all stupid cause we all fell for it XD
Stoopid is as stoopid is
I love that Celestia feels like a real pony instead of being a strict ruler, I love her silliness and imperfections!
That’s great most shows you barley meet the leader you only see them when they’re at work being strict it’s nice to see a show where they show the leader as a person not just there to give orders to the protagonist
Starlight: you're not a princess, princess.
Me & BC: *laughs hard*
I realized the Canterlot Castle's Throne Room is different than before. More... blue...
When tia was prancing around it was so cute!!. I’m glad Luna was in this episode.
THE RETURN OF TROLLESTIA!!!!
That's an interesting idea! Especially that they are my favorite ponies.
Thank you! My sentiments exactly. XD
I've never seen anyone bring this up, but there's a similarity between Fluttershy and Starlight as well. They both suffered from severe insecurity from something they went though as fillies. The 1D puns were sneaky, but I caught them
ethan hatcher ikr
Twilight: I’m sorry, Celestia.
Celestia: UNACCEPTABLE! Three years dungeon. No exceptions!😂
Since I can't see the MLP episodes until they come out on Netflix, I'm literally watching them for the first time on your channel, and having a blast with both them, and your commentary! Keep up the great work :D
Edit: Also, aren't play voyeurs called 'the audience'?
You and me both
7:16 WAIT, THIS EPISODE IS SHOWING SOME BACKSTORY OF BEFORE CELESTIA WAS RULER? AWESOME!
That was the best episode in seoson 8 I swear I couldn't stop laughing especially flutter shy she was so adorable when celestia told her to act as celestia I couldn't stop it was just to adorable who else agrees
Yeah and when spike said prence what did he mean with that?
@@oliwermattsson1913 He said “Did she just…prance?” because probably they haven't seen Celestia bouncing around like that
This is one of my favorite episodes of all time. It is just fantastic!
How could untested magic fireworks that I bought in a back alley from Trixie at midnight be unsafe? XD
21:10 😂 Luna! Couldn't you just pretend you didn't know anything. Celestia better drop that sun wherever she rose it from. Cause it's Luna time when stars are out. 😂

Twilight sparkle: uhmm...
Luna: Sister...i think you need to calm down..
Everybody: *eats chips and popcorn*
Apple Jack ' what could go wrong "
Me ' a Lot could go wrong".
Nope never
Celestia was adorable in this episode
21:09 wow Blank, your the first pony I’ve seen call out the Luna face since the episode came out
ikr
Luna’s probably like
“Sister I took time off on watching every pony’s dreams and the only time I have and u turn it to day”
I mean.. celestia just stole the sun from the other side of the world
I'm so happy that the show is sharing information I've read in Journal of the Two Sisters ^-^
Which included that part of equestrian history of the pony races, and how 5 unicorns were required to raise and lower the sun. Star Swirl being the only one powerful enough to retain his magic after performing the spell with the others and assist day after day whilst the other unicorns sadly lost their magic permanently.
Applejack: What could go wrong?
Me: Murphy’s law, ACTIVATE!
Who's a silly pony?
*CEL-LES-TI-AH!* 🎶
I knew this trope right from the cold open. Also, will DHX please decide if we should listen to AJ or not?
Wow, and Round Trip uploaded his Horse Play "In a Nutshell" video today as well. I hope you can get around to those soon.
From what I've heard, Nicole Oliver absolutely loved getting to troll with Celestia :3
Blank Check: Even Fluttershy’s like: ‘Spike, get your butt out there’.
*A few seconds later*
Spike: *Get’s threw back behind the stage* Good news: Free food!
Me: (In my head): Ok first, Spike, you HAD to get your butt out there but failed. Second, FREE FOOD FROM ANGRY AUDIENCE?! OH COME ON! IS THERE MORE?!
14:51: This conferms it, Pinkie Pie is Michael Bay
Cool Guy Micheal Hay
AURAequine Nice
AURAequine Aw you changed your pun
I felt the fewer letters of hay suited more as a pun on bay than neigh.
AURAequine either way, still funny
I bet Luna would be good at this and I love celestias characterization. Also I love the new storyboarders who make silly faces and the new once an episode "ohhhh pinky".
I love how they’re establishing this down-to-earth part of Celestia - she’s not just some distant deity, she can be just like everyone else.. I also just really enjoyed how bad she is at acting and how great she was at setting the scene 😊
If Celestia like's to watch plays just wait until Television is Invented
dude she'd have a portal small TV running on Magic, while she sits on the throne, and does paperwork.
Luna was so pissed off at Tia for doing that 😂. I honestly don’t blame her I would kinda be mad too
19:07 Rarity has Startlight's cutie mark hah, just saw that and had to do a double take lol.
Lol true
"throw the sun into the audience"
Why I can NEVER keep a straight face seeing funny stuff like this, I'll never know...
I love that applejack (element of honesty) is telling twilight about being honest since honesty is her whole thing
Hah! Blank also immediately saw the 2Snacks influence in Celly's sitting pose. GMTA and all that jazz, I guess.
It's weird how I spent the last few days checking alll my favorite reaction channels to see if they uploaded this episode yet, and then most of them just pop up on the same day.
I personally want to see Pinkies backalley deal with Trixie. I'll bet that Pinkie will be wearing her mustache!
Anyone else think of Fallout: Equestria and the burnouts of magic in it? "They lost their powers forever." Seriously am I the only one?
Nightmare fuel at #14:14 Twilight lost her jaw...
You said at the beginning of your vid, "Let's find out what makes this episode beautiful!" And you found it. :D:D:D
4:45 I think it's called Bridleway in the show
Only raising the sun for 1111 years? Huh, and here I thought she was multi-thousand years old.
Celestia: I have no acting experience at all (me: buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuullshit! I've seen how you troll)
Luna (at the end): wtf is she doing.
Melon Lord
Makes you wonder how old Discord really is
I like to think he is primordial.
.......pfftt hahahahhahahahahahah hahahahha oh my hahahahahah oh my gawd!!!!! seeing Celestia do that giddy prance in place, then do a skipping prance was so CUTE!
in the IDW discord also replaced the sun with a balloon. it was filled with lava monsters, but the it's thought that counts
Daniel Wilson
Wait, that happened? Which issue? I don't remember that
Chaos theory, IDW issues 48#-50# it's admittedly a bit of an offhand joke but it ends the issue
Omg, i'm not the only one, who sing Pony Girl when Twi and Celestia fly at the end)))
21:25 Damn. You're right. "Infinity War"'s budget WAS a whopping $300 Million. It's was worth it though. Best MCU film I've see in years.
Watching your reaction is my first time seeing the episode, most of these episodes have been slightly dull to me, although they have plenty of funny and great moments, I have just been finding it hard to watch them all the way through, but your commentary helps alot so THANK YOU
I wonder if Trixie gave Pinkie a "Great and powerful deal" for that "fake sun"?
Luna: TIA WHAT DID I SAY ABOUT RAISING THE SUN IN MY NIGHT?
This episode breaking headcanon? Well, it just confirmed mine! Can't wait to publish it for/at EFNW!
14:14 renewed Bulk Biceps' "Yeah" line (totally real and beautiful version suited for a bookhorse.)
(15:43) Yeah, when Twilight briefly evolved into Rapidash?
Celestia moves the sun for a special effect
Luna: "Bitch, we had like 2 scenes in the movie and one of them was about not doing exactly this"
Luna's officially pissed.
"1111 years"
Dammit, didn't they learn anything from the candy cane? Never give these people numbers that specific!
“It ain’t over till the fat alicorn sings”
“A fat cake loving pegacorn”
I love the little edit on your Check. The 2016 was changed to 2018 and there is an "x" over the 6. ^^
Starlight has been just amazing this season so far.
While I completely agree that this is a fun episode, I have to call pony pies on the fact that Celestia can't act. She is a princess! A figurehead! A politician! She literally acts all day every day! Case and point: Season 7 Episode 10, A Royal Problem.
Celestia/Nick: It's called a hussle twilight
Twilight/judy: .......
"We beat our students"
Lmao, the only part that made me laugh
1:18 I love the cute little tippy toe thing 😂
An episode in sweltering heat, thank celestia!
After watching this episode, the 2017 movie, all the times Twilight neglected Spike, remembering No Second Prances, and Shadow Play parts 1 and 2, it has come to my realization that Twilight has proven herself unworthy of being a princess.
I think Luna came just to see Celestia fail
So... the sun was either early in the rising or late in the setting. That's probably why Luna was annoyed. She was like: wtf, girl don't throw off the world's systems for a play! (Remember that other places such as the Everfree forest, the weather there is like our weather.) lol Still a funny little detail though.

17:09 Yay! Pony Girl reference!
Princess celestia' s RCV(Royal canterlot voice) made me laugh!!
Tridashie has a another friendship is musical it doesn't have a season... and it's my FAVOURITE Musical!!!😀😀Because it has a "Horseplay" scene and it plays "Let the bodies hit the floor" IT'S JUST COOL!!!
Imagine being immortal and there's a play about stuff thousands of years ago, "Is that really how it was?" "Eh, sure, why not."
17:27
Blank: what do u give the pony that has everything....
Me:...nothing!!! Absolutely nothing!
Because they already have everything!!!
3:57 yondu walks on stage. "IM MARY POPPINS, YALL!"
Pokémon reference: Princess Celestia used royal canterlot voice it was super effective!
This is basically that Trouble shoes episode all over again
Fluttershy acting as Celestia is the best thing ever :’)
9:08
She sounds like a pony-princess version of Siri.
To be honest, this was one of the best episodes ever and a definite Top 3. The only noticeable flaws were Starlight acting out of the character shown in S7 E10 and Raspberry Beret not cited in the credits. This was a perfect balance of all writing elements and animation cues.
Fluttershy as adorable-est and cutest cosplayer! Confirmed!
What a great surprise after school😂
In the words of the great DWK; 'she's got lights on her plot but they're all off in her brain...'
Her acting power was under 9000
Twilight (when she was not a queen) can chat, play and sing with the queens holy sheetohe
I love that Celestia has gotten more relaxed over the seasons.
Wow good improv Celestia!
Road to 100k :D
The way to get out of a mime's invisable box - Imagine there's a door
I love Luna's face when the sun came up
