I was so sad when Pope Benedict died. He was faithful and completely loyal to God and His Church, real shepherd. His legacy, his wonderful books especially, will remain forever. So the people in his office must have been incompetent. There's of course more but to summarize: The only way to believe he was completely out of the loop, didn't understand the info and missed all that was reported to his office, is to argue that an Arch Bishop over a huge diocese, that even became Pope, was obtuse and completely incompetent at his job managing his completly incompetent diocese. He certainly was the Pope of my heart even after he resigned his ministry, and even when I was in the crowd welcoming Pope Francis on a visit to my country. I remember when I watched the live news of the election of Joseph Ratzinger to become the pope. My opinion was very much tainted by the negative press and news reports. Then when ”Caritas Deus est” was published I instantly had it printed out at home from the Vatican webpage, took it to a café to read myself…,,and I was surprised of how beautifully it talked straight to me and my life. From then on, I was a fan!
