I have known Billy since 1998 when he was in brilliant physique. Since then, we have travelled together (including first time to Beijing), Xian, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Santorini, Bangkok, Dubai, Bali, 高雄 etc. Believe me, he is not what he presented in to the Chinese media. I cannot understand why my brothers in China would call him King (比利王) and regard what he said as philosophy😕. He asked the most dumb questions which can shock you. As far as anti-Chinese comments, this is absolutely true. In short, he is just in China to earn your money (which is absolutely fine as a commercial deal) but don’t idolize him and waste your time and money.
This is pretty much true throughout, with the exception of the anti-Chinese comments which I have a hard time believing (the most anti-Chinese thing I've seen his post is probably those kamikaze pictures and his arguing about how they're "warriors" as if they have any sort of honor). Regardless, the whole thing about it being a commercial reason is pretty much accurate. I had private conversations with him to help out by appearing in a non-profit collaboration and he kept pressuring me to get into business with him, despite my constant responses (in a nutshell) being that this is 100% a hobby and non-commercial project, and that I do not wish to make a profit off of this as it will betray everything I stand regarding this internet phenomenon. Often times, he gets into very heated and blood boiling conversations regarding theism (religion, etc) and science, as he is a hardcore atheist who believes god is a work of fiction. This could be because he isn't taking his mental prescriptions (like Xanax) and the guilt throughout his life like the bankruptcy he filed in 2007 and the fact he does NOT pay for child support for his only son. It just boils down to, "Huh? So you have all this time to visit China, Taiwan, and Japan...but you don't have the time to take care of your child who is growing up without his father?" I'm not too favorable about Billy Herrington as a person, but he does get somethings right, like how Aniki is merely a character, and completely separate from Billy Herrington. Basically, Billy Herrington and Aniki/Ousama are completely different entities, and that he is a human (an organism with many flaws). I do wish him peace, as he has been suffering with the guilt and obstacles that have come at him like a hurling boulder throughout his entire life. From his breakup with his girlfriend in favor of a bodybuilder, to his financial struggles, to his personality being completely out of whack to where he has to take SSRIs, he has lived a very difficult life under the hood. Rest in peace, big brother.
feeling society's pressure over you and not having the tools to handle it can lead you to make choices like this in order to maintain a "normal" lifestyle, aka your family accepts you, your friends like you, you can have a social life at work, etc.
