- ***This video was taken while the truck was still under construction***440 with 671 blower, dynoed 680 horse@ 6600 RPM. We decided to test out my transmission , the first run I think I accidently bumped it to neutral, second run was clean all the way through 3rd gear. Good thing I dont plan to shift in the mud anyway, its just nice to know things are working properly! I need to upgrade to 70 shafts in the front before I lock it! Heres a couple links to the videos of this in the mud: • Blown mud truck test r... and • Blown mudtruck, mud truck
This is the kind of thing I used to imagine when I was 10! It just made me giggle like I was 10 all over again! Thanks for posting :)
you dont need to lie and say this was a "transmission test" you can just say you wanted to do a 4 wheel burnout. most people watching will understand
I respect it, not just because its a good mud truck, but because it is a DODGE!
That's strange, I could have sworn there was some tread on those tires just a minute ago. :) Sounds mean and clean dude. Good job. I'd love to see it finished.
best burnout video on youtube period.
I am not a dodge fan by any means, but DAMN. That was pretty badass...
Legit 4 wheel burnout!! well done sir!
I'm a ford fan but that's a badass truck! thumbs up for the beast under the hood!
@ryan112976 by definition, a "blower" is belt driven and is therefore always on unless you have it on a switch. a "turbo" is powered by exhaust pressure and is therefore responsive to the engines power output.
Thanks for the info! It runs on pump gas and was built as a street motor!
the way it looks has its own charm rickety charm. old school looking. if it was at normal height, with the same engine, and someone wanted to race, they wouldn't know any better
Great job on the build , the engine and transmission must be built right , I want to see it in the mudd . I'm building a truck for the mud right now to , I'm just on here getting motivated .
Epic video dude.
Quite possibly the only one on RUclips. I'd highly recommend a title change.
You ever think of going with a posy for mudding so all four tires help out because if not the tires that don't spin are just dead weight and cause more friction in the mud so its easier to get stuck.
440's make awesome power but man mopars are the most expensive thing to build let alone upgrade unless you have a bunch of parts laying around. Motor sounds awesome
Enjoyed every minute of this vid fellas, Thanx for the upload.
We work hard, and play hard!
@honchoryanc yup. blown is a term people use when they have a supercharger. sometimes people with a turbo say the same thing.
one of the most epic veicles ive ever seen.
that was sick! i have to show my buddy (the dodge guy out of us) hopefully it will inspire him to get his junk built.
awe-full Brave putting that nice car behind the Truck ..... would love to see some videos of it in the mudd.....
now this truck deserves the name POWERWAGON!!!awsome man!!
its dripping AWESOMENESS! leaving a puddle of BADASS behind.
@priority44 It's possible I had a few beers when I posted that...you're so smart, thank you for the correction!
badass truck. sounds really healthy. I got an 87 ram with just a 360 in it right now. She will have a stout 6.0 in her this summer
@NathansBackwoods, it sometimes stalls if I go from WOT to nothing too fast.
ah thats what my old j10 has in it, good thing i didnt scrap it like i was plannin cuz now it sounds like im gona be doin some parts swapin
and waht size stall u got i believe i have a 3000 in the jeep
@wlpmilkyway 205 t case and 60 front with 70 shafts
@BaracoBoy A blower only boosts when it needs to, otherwise it's running at zero or even a small amount of vacuum at idle or cruising speed. As soon as you need power and get on the bitch the boost jumps up, this motor typically runs up to about 10lbs
Those tires were 38's before he started doing this stuff.... Nice Truck there.
@080ollie Its impossible to do a 4wd burnout unless something is stopping the truck from moving forward.....
sweet sounding truck. why the open front dif tho?
"you're drippin somthing Brian, what are you drippin?" I could be so dirty, cos this was so badass.
@BikeRider2299 All 4 wheel drive vehicles only spin 1 in the front unless it has a locker,
dodges are so sick. I own a half a dozen, proudly parked between my chevs
The hell with the haters thats all they know. that is one bad truck sir, and it sounds
amazing.
Why'd you change the paint? I like it better when the trucks have a nice used look to em.
Be kinda cool if you could like a quick release chain or something so when you get them all 4 at top speed you can let loose and see how far you could leave awesome looking black marks.
You guy would be surprised how little I have into this engine, I've been building 440s for 15 years and collecting lots of parts along the way!
It sounds totally bad ass. Keep me updated.
listern to the angry growl of that big american v8! i love it mate cheers
awesome truck feel like its a little underpowered tho i know a guy that has a built 454 naturally aspirated thats making 600 horse power so for it being blown and making 680 seems a little low
I LOVE THE SHADE OF YOUR NECK
And how much for the blower? lol. I was assuming the 454 has some rather expensive ported to hell and back heads. Had a LS1 that made 450hp+ all motor and that was thanks to the heads and a "baby" cam.
As long as beer was involved in the making of this video than everything is ok
Nice ride Man !!! Love old Mopars... I bet that cloud of smoke killed a lot of birds! Lol...
because thats the tire the brake is on. its the one thats holding the truck in place
all i gotta say man is THAT TRUCK IS BEAST!!!!!!!
try reading the intro before you comment. He said he is going to upgrade before he locks the front end..........
Let me hear you SCREAM!!!! I finally found meaning to that Ozzy song haha
i liked for the burnout and engine, i hope this thing gets a decent painjob.
44s are just fine!
Can you come over to my neighbour's house and do that on her driveway? Love the smoke show.
@schuldinersklokateer, it was just water coming out of the overflow on my rear radiator.
that truck sounds great!
@shnrbtlle18 Your very welcome!
@ryan112976 what year is that dodge and the truck sounds bad asss
@LomacXLT I've got a half a dozen RUclips videos of this in the mud.
nice man i can think of a few mud roads id like to ransack with that nothin sounds like a chrysler big block
Damn tree didnt budge...lol. Cool video!
motor sounds sweet!!
@cwilczewski23 I built this engine myself, most of the time it's at zero boost, unless your working it.
i gotta ask at 2:55 did it stall out or did you just cut it...cause if you just cut it thats not exactly good...its like sprinting as long as you can an then laying down, you gotta cool down.
it'll turn over some 31's pretty good how bout 42's?
props , like dodge ya got there. but stacks are a lil bit pointless eh if ya got a gasser
open differential in the front. power goes to tire with less traction.
I hear ya, I just get a kick outta these assholes! We fire down a couple beers and decide to do a burnout spur of the moment, now every Einstein on youtube is analizing it! Cracks me up!
dude!!! where can i watch this truck run??
gotta love the four tire fire!
i reallly hope you have a great radiator to run a big block in a mud truck lol but nice
@rodeofan5656 The truck was long from done at this point as you can clearly see, yes the front was welded shortly after this.
did you ever find out what was leaking?
... and this my friends is how you take the "feathering" or "chopping" out of your daily driver 4x4 pickup truck tires! (Of course, that's also how you wear 'em out prematurely too.) LOL!
I respect any car/truck/bike that works good, regardless of what it is. If your honda runs 9 seconds? Sweet. If your mustang does? Same. Pisses me off when haters cant apperiate that even though something isnt their style or something they would build themselves, they cannot see it for what it is ; something that happens to haul major ass.
That 440 sounds so bad ass. What crank and cam are you running? Also what pistons and estimated compression please. Cant wait to see more vids
@Kixon74 you can see it chained to something when it stops
awesome truck man guess you really didnt like those tree tires lol
@rodeofan5656
Most guys dont run lockers...if they did and something breaks, a locker would allow both sides to break instead of only one
Is that a Mercury Comet in the background at 1:47 ?
@ 3:42 mark...."you're drippin' something Ryan. what are ya drippin'?".
it's called sweat!
:)
@cwilczewski23 not true a supercharger works just like a turbo in the aspect that if you aren't half or full throttle its not making boost. only difference is there is no spool time depending on which type of supercharger it is. there are more than just one type. do some research and you will see what i mean.
dang why are yall so damn hostle? I love the video and the truck. :) you should get some bigger tires though hun.
wow, mudpeoplesuck is a BADASS cat expert!
love your truck bro!!
@BaracoBoy smart dude, misuse of "your".
yeah obviously we have some winners watching this vid lol. engine sounds very nice man.
Damn, couldnt you just drive it and test the trans? Will it spin the 44's like that? :)
yeah.. run it at as high as rpm as possible!
Yes there are some REALY dumb comments.
but i will say... I felt alittle sorry at first for the spidergears in your differential... ;]
VERY nice truck though!
Looks like a success.
@BaracoBoy Thats unfortunate. You might want to see your doctor.
Thats gotta be hard on the differential gears!
727, with all the best parts!
Got smoke?
Blown BIG Block, spinning all four tires!!!! GOD BLESS ya . awesome.
How is that tree still there?
There's nothing like a blown V8!
ya lol by the way what motor you got iner? 440?
Nuttier than a porta poty at a peanut festival
Thats got some drive shaft triwsting power
damn that sounds awesome!!
