I bought a Tandem X20S a couple of months ago and although the lack of crossfire and elrs support (for now) is not ideal, I have to say that Ethos has been a pleasant surprise thusfar. The OS works very intuitively in combination with the layout of the touchscreen on top of the transmitter. But the real reason I bought it was because for me it feels very natural to hold. Only complaint have are the pots on the side. I wish they were sliders instead just like on the newly released X18. I just hope it will be possible to upgrade my X20S to have the same capabilities as the X20HD
I would be happy to use ethos if I could use my elrs lite module on it. I have a mix of frsky 2.4 and 900 along with elrs so this may work well for me.
Yes. A controller like this using EdgeTX and ELRS would be great for professional pilots as an easy way to maintain VLOS with popular, modern technologies.
I have the Tandem X18 and I love it. I do fly some fixed wing models, but mostly quads this past year. Setting up ELRS was a pain in the ass for some reason. I was actually very curious to see if I could hack a walksnail into it lol. But if the screen isn't at least 720p I don't think it will even display anything. Cool idea, but probably a bust.
Nice to see Frsky getting on the HD bandwagon. I will certainly look into it. I have always used Frsky, still happy with my Taranis, never let me down in 5 years, coupled with the R9 i have not had a need to complain. But HD would be nice to have, certainly thinking it's time to move away from analog now that HD gear is becoming more wide spread.
Although I will never buy it, I respect FrSky's determination to evolve with the hobby. I am already wondering - can that display be swapped out to for a higher resolution, "real" HD screen? Compelling innovation from FrSky - let's see what follows from other radio companies...... :)
@@wattage2007 FrSKY locked users from changing the OS to EdgeTX or OpenTX....You have to keep the ETHOS operating system. But, I've heard good things about ETHOS. Anyhow, that loss of "change-ability" was a BIG DEAL for some. One positive thing now is you can use Crossfire or ELRS modules on these new Frsky Tandem radios via LUA. And that is good enough for me to buy one. Frsky just seems so much more quality than the Radiomaster T16's....IMO. I do like the Zorro though....
Right on!! Finally it's nice to hear something good coming about frsky!! I have invested alot into them don't want to change.
This is great news. Good to see other vendors building products around HDZERO tech.

That’s great info. I have heard some good things from others to. That really rings in with what they said.

Pretty interesting indeed. And compatible with HDZero? That's pretty impressive!!!
Thanks, Ian!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
we're getting close to being able to build our 'own dji' drones!

Ethos will be much advanced looking at the pace its going now. Elrs support will be added in near future

Update to EdgeTX and ELRS and thank me later.

I wonder if it would possible to install the hd zero rx in the x20 without having to buy the new radio.
The small screen with 800x480 is fine as long as the HDMI output is HD I would be very happy.
who is hachdee zero? why arent they hachdee ZEDro?
If it had an open-source OS, normal size module-bay and HDMI-out i would have bought it in a heartbeat. Now ...... nope !
I have the x20 for fixed wing. Moved over from spektrum which is a rip off. Have used opent tx a bit too and love Ethos. Really easy to use.
Frsky and HD zero what if frsky start making Goggles 4K goggles ??? game changer
but hdzero is 5.8ghz?
Video transmission is 5.8ghz. RC transmission is 2.4 and 900 ghz.
@@danielmccullock1249 Wow that sucks if video transmission is 5.8 ghz. 5.8 ghz range is shorter then 2.4 and 900 ghz.
FrSky is really digging their own grave. This will not sell well. If they went EdgeTX and ELRS there would be a drastically different appeal
It's 720p the operating system isn't
HDMI out for goggles ?
Yes it does
HDMI out to our Goggles?
Yes
@@danielmccullock1249 Would be interesting to get the antennas off the goggles.
“X20 Hayche-D”
Seems like a good jeti copy hdzero on a crappy screen...
? HDMI out, otherwise no
Yes it has hdmi out.
will never buy frsky again

Good luck Fry sky, you fried your reputation!😒
