0:33 it's not half a jazz engine uban myth, the car engineering division collaborated for the design on this for two years which was a first for Honda, that and a joke made at the 2012 launch by lead developer about the car engine being cut in half
Good someone is being honest about that distinct lack of power and fun factor in this bike. I have one and I don't like it at all. If I had more cash I would get something that would be quicker than the average car.
I have a NC700X. On one hand I could agree with some of the negatives but, conditionally. It might be a little bland but that's because there's not much weirdness. And, it's not a sportbike but I manage to force it into the act sometimes. I've never gotten a false neutral. The back seat. Yeah, raising it to fill takes an extra 5-10 seconds but I also like the filler on that BMW, that way I could get a wider seat for it. My panniers are hard mounted and easy to take off and don't have that cargo net thing on top of that seat. That front storage compartment is awesome! So easy to use, makes up for a lot of other things. I'm totally spoiled with it. That redline is just something to get used to. Plenty of torque which helps make up for it.
Sounds to me, that you have the wrong bike. You simply dont get it. The things you dislike, is the qualitys of the NC700. I rode one for 4 years/42.000 kms. Its brilliant for what it is. I changed to DL1000 to have more power 2 up. But it surtanly dont have the build quality of the NC.
Certainly is the right bike for the needs it fills. That's correct, this video is about the qualities of the NC700X and my opinion on them compared to the many other bikes I've owned. Check the video description for a link to the "5 Things I Love" I'm sure you'll find that more suiting.
I swoped my NC700DCT precisely for the reasons you mentioned here for a CBF600S, I now miss precisely everything you've mentioned here. As I age gracefully the NC700DCT in my case is fast becoming everything I actually needed from a motorcycle and honestly the fun factor has reversed and the spirited riding has taken second seat. Keep the bike never swop it if anything get another but keep it.
I have the 2018 NC750X. The 750’s redline is higher by 1000rpms and has much more low end power. It’s really a huge improvement over the 700. And also, don’t shift without your clutch! 🙄
2 things I hate about my NC700X. Seat is too tall. Also it's pointed, thin & slanted downward so it's a 1 hour seat. When you update it's even taller. But the newer ones have a lower seat that's actually good enough to keep.
Depends on the use case. The Honda is the ultimate city motorcycle-scooter hybrid. But if I were doing long trips and touring I might lean V-storm although I’ve never ridden one. I didn’t find the handling characteristics of the NC very fun on canyon roads. The V Storm shares SV650 frame and parts so I imagine it’s handing would be similar. The sv650 is a great handling bike.
Thanks for the comment, I should have done my research rather than repeat what I've read. But it Is also trivial, while it isn't exactly "1/2 a Fit" engine it's also not 100% untrue. Cheers!
I have a 2012 NC700X Honda for sale. Runs like new, recent service, new tires/chain/battery. Has a windscreen. 18,000 miles. 65-70mpg. Listed for $3500. Obo. Pretty good bike, I'm in Illinois.

Thanks, I appreciate the negative review. It is hard to find anything negative about these bikes.

you are 100% right about gears and shifter! NC700s owner

I love mine, my other bike is an Africa Twin. The AT has a low revving engine too so the NC feels very familiar to me.
If this bike was a beverage it'd be a lemon flavored LaCroix
4:25 it's just one of those 'honda' things
5:04 Mmm that's maybe your 700, my 2017 nc750s is slick as a nut and clutchless change is easy
interesting cut @5:55, did someone get into a drag race with a vette? :P
Have you thought about getting a ECU flasher an see if you can boost the RPMs?
Iff you have to choose between V-strom and nc750x wich wane you will?

Haha you right, check the other video in the description
Buddy you should buy a cbr600r
No, it is not half of a Honda Fit engine. Research it and stop propagating the nonsense.
