When You Should Wax

  • How Often Should You Wax/When You Should Wax
Getting ready for an upcoming event (wedding, party, holiday, etc) and need to be hair free? It might be confusing to know when to wax and how often you should wax in order to get the best results. Timing makes all the difference on knowing the perfect time to wax.
First thing is ensuring you have the correct length of hair. I recommend waiting 3-6 weeks before waxing. If you wax earlier than 3 weeks, the hair will be too short and not all of it will come out. If you wait longer than 6 weeks, the hair will be too long and you can also start having multiple hair growth cycles growing in. That’s why it’s always best to stick to a schedule with waxing. Once you start, don’t stop!
Now your first waxing appointment is very different from your 10th. The first time is going to be a little more painful since you will have the most hair. Your skin might also be sensitive since this will be the first time the hair is being pulled out from the root. After each wax, less hair will come back each time and your skin gets used to the waxing process. We recommend getting 2-3 waxes before a big event or holiday if you are a new client. This will help make sure there are no issues and your skin and hair react well to waxing. Rather be safe than sorry!
Another thing to consider about your first wax appointment is that your hair will not all be on the same hair growth cycle. This is because you have been shaving so the hair continuously gets cut off at the root. Unfortunately, there is a possibility that not all the hair will come out during the first appointment. It will take between 2-3 sessions in order to get all the hair on the same growth cycle. This is why I recommend any new clients to wax 2-3 times before any big event (especially if it’s a Brazilian wax). This will give us time to get all the hair to grow in at the same time so it can easily be pulled from the root. Once we get you on the same hair growth cycle, you will forever have smooth results as long as you put your razor away! Remember, staying away from shaving is key.
Depending on when your big event or holiday is, we recommend getting waxed about 2-3 days before. This will give your skin time to rest and your pores to seal back up. Right after you wax, the hair follicles are open which can result in bacteria and infection seeping in. However, just stay away from working out, sex, swimming and intense sunlight for the next 24 hours and you will be fine.

Could you do a video about salon organization? it seems that I'm always searching for my stuff no matter how I organize my room. Or maybe a real time half-leg waxing? That could be interesting too!

When you wax yourself and you see those dots of blood should you stop waxing?
And how long should you let your skin recover?

Ok so I had my very first ever Brazilian wax on 9-15-2023 and let me tell you something…… that stuff hurts like hell. I had a jungle down there. She had to use a scissor to cut them short before she started waxing. After we got done I asked her how long should I wait to return back and she about a month or two depending on how fast my hair grow. Today is October 16. Been a month now and honestly I don’t even know if I should go for my second appointment or if I should wait two months because I am not sure if it’s too long or too short. I LITERALLY can’t even grab it with a pinch. Should I still go get waxed even tho I am unable to pinch it ?

The second wax will be much easier since less hair grows back in :) The hair should be the length of a grain of rice. If it's not, I would wait.

When applying the wax and a hair strand sticks out of the applied layer of wax, should you apply more wax until it's fully covered or expect it to come off when u pull the wax? Does this happen if the hair is too long or does this have to do with the quality of the wax?

No you don't need to apply more wax to the hair, should be fine!

I made a bet and lost so I have to get my legs waxed. What is an estimate to when I’ll have my leg hair back😂 I’m just curious how long my legs will be hair free of stubble.

I waxed my legs and I noticed them growing more like for example 3 strands of hair standing really closely together and I’ve also found that I have a few hairs that are stuck under my skin. Do you think this is caused by waxing? I’m young and it was my first time waxing my legs, so I’ve got no idea what’s going on.

I've never heard of this before? Unfortunately, I'm not sure but I'm pretty sure waxing wouldn't cause that.

I'm new to waxing and I tried removing hair in a certain part of my body but I shaved the rest in that region once I started experiencing issues. Now the hair in that region is on different growth cycles - Should I wait for everything to grow out before I start waxing again?

I’m due to book in my second wax but I still see stubble. Should I wait longer for that to grow back or will stubble still wax off x

It will take a couple of waxes for all your hair to get on the same growth cycle, so this is normal! I would recommend waiting a little longer and than scheduling your appt :)

What if the hair is longer than a gain of rice do you cut with a scissor then wax after

    • @hissnkittenwaxing
      @hissnkittenwaxing  Год назад

Nope I would just leave it! If you try to trim it, you run the risk of cutting it too short which will make it much more difficult to wax.

Hey, my question is can you do brazilian wax or remove pubic hair on your own for men and how? Maybe a video will helpfull about that there isn't a good video about that on internet. And will it been enough when you can reach to pull to get the hairs remove, i say this also because on your other video like put wax on your arm you pull the strip and it comes easy out is this possible on pubic area to work that easily and effective. Greetings.

Can you wear deodorant right after waxing your underarms? Or should you wait 24hrs?
