I am building several midgard fantasy forces from all the fantasy figures I have collected over the years. I have an Orc force which is all Preslotta Citadel plus a bunch of Nick Lund Giant Black Orcs for heroes and heavy hitters (Mostly 'Brutal' so fairly expensive) . I have so many ideas for Orc forces including a mobile raiding force comprising Wolf riders - again Citadel. I am planning to run them as Medium Cavalry with missiles (bows). That army will include a couple of bases of Light Chariots and maybe some Orc/Goblin Wolf Rider skirmish cavalry as well. Fantastic set of rules. We had a battle last week with Orcs vs Dwarves. The Dwarves won as their unusual deployment of cannon and missile troops in the centre held off my strong centre long enough for their left flanking manouevre of the dwarven heavy infantry to smash my unarmoured right wing and empty my cup of reputation tokens. Some hesitent early second move command test fails in the front rank of the army centre didn't help either! This week I am assembling a Chaos Army having picked up a few cheap units off Ebay. A purchase of 16 painted Chaos Knights will be organised as two heavy infantry units with various traits who should match up reasonably against the Giant Orcs. I have gone over the top painting another Ebay purchase - 38 Ungors which will break down into 5 units of 7-8 infantry - Either pike-armed Heavy Infantry or just plain Horde. Plus I bought some Chaos Hounds in a bring and buy many years ago so those will be the Heavy Cavalry unit. Not sure who will win when the Chaos boys fight the Giant Black Orcs.
Wow you have been busy!. So many options glad you are enjoying the game. My undead army is just about there. Now on to some Vikings! Thanks for watching :)
Good Sunday evening from San Diego, California. Hope you are well. Finally got my terrain on my 6x4+' table set up. orcs are ready n waiting for humans to enter the trap. Working on my own game rules...
Interesting update, would be interested to see how you use Midgard rules, got them on pre-order myself. No idea you played SAGA be interested to see what you have and are you tempted by Age of Chivalry?
@AndrewSmith-fd3fi thanks Andrew will hope to bring you a video once played midgard....we were quite in to Saga for a while and played all the original books.....when the new ones came out we fell out of love as it felt they had gone too far and over complicated the boards.....saying that still love the original concepts.Prob wont jump in on aoc as play other rules in this period :)
@@prasutagustheorwellwargamer Be interested to know of your other rules you use. For Dark Age although mostly Greek related it seemed your view, Warlord have just released Age of Arthur whilst wait on a Midgard campaign expansion could allow your old SAGA guys to get an outting if you like the rules ofc. #sureyoudontneedanotherproject
Sorry but this is the only way to contact you. Any chance you have some spare 2mm renaissance cavalry? My last order to IM was either lost or never sent and they have ceased 2mm production for now due to "issues" I have 2 incomplete armies with no cavalry. Im in the USA. If you can help name your price and tell me how we can talk outside of an open forum. Sorry but Im desperate, 2 armies are about to go into the trash.
