How does space black hold up against scratches and other kinds of wear? I am concerned that it is paint that will come off and look ugly over time. Is this the case?
@@jaronefarrell3047 I like the Titanium in black because I like the black finish. I do like the matte look of the titanium. If it was matte black in stainless steel, I'd probably like that more. So rather than the material, I think I am more partial to the matte black finish which is a personal preference and bias
You came so close to showing me something I hadn’t seen in any other review: What the free gray sports band looks like paired with the Space Black Titanium watch.
No not at all, it’s not meant to be a health device, more “informational”. Fingertip pulse oximeters are faster and more accurate than how the Apple Watch does it, the Apple Watch can be fickle and less than accurate, but overall can help monitor over time passively, talk to your doctor if you need more accurate monitoring
I actually prefer this over the new graphite stainless steel one, it’s ashame they changed the colour. I’ve got the series 3 stainless steel and the graphite looks too similar.
Yes I was looking for black stainless steel, but space black titanium seems to be the only "black" edition Apple watch now so I think titanium will gain more popularity. I'm pretty sure the glossy finish of the black stainless steel was the issue -- it scratched easily and I think Apple had to deal with a lot of cosmetic complaints, so they turned everything brushed / matte and make the stainless steel "graphite" instead of glossy black,
TheChanClan I don’t see how the space black stainless steel had more scratched than the stainless steel. I preferred the older colour. Think I’ll have to go for titanium this time
moose185 the scratches revealed the silver colored stainless steel as the black is just a finish so the scratches contrasted more against the black polish than the uncolored stainless steel
TheChanClan I’m surprised that the space black stainless steel watch scratches and shows the silver. I’ve got the iPhone XS which is space black stainless steel and it looks Immaculate. Strange how the watch scratches more.
Yes it seems like they added this later with the Hermès editions.. $1299 is a bit steep considering it is only stainless steel… I’d go with the titanium for the premium, so far I’ve been wearing this non stop since launch and it looks great, no scratches as it is a brushed look rather than the polished stainless steel that had more scuffs
Yeah that was mentioned in the press conference that they wanted to Go Green and too many people have unused chargers sitting in drawers (which is true, I have had sitting in my desk)
@@matz0rz4o8 Sorry, that being said, most people have somewhere they can plug in a USB device for charging. I actually use my USB breakout by Anker on the night stand
@@TheChanClanLife the only problem with getting the high end ones is the don’t hold value since there are new ones every year. I always buy stainless but can never sell them for anything.
@@zacdavis7 Just enjoy it while you have it and worry less about the resale value. I gave my SS to my son, because you're right Apple would only give $250 for a $750 watch
Zac Davis just enjoy the watch stop thinking about resale value, Ive still got my series 3 after 2 and half years paid £650 for it at the time, worth every single penny, even if I get £250 for it now I’m happy, I would be happy. If you think about it this way how much would a series 3 aliminium watch be worth now probably next to nothing, maybe £100 at the most.
Sport loop is the lightest. Sport band is heavy and sweaty and loose. The apple watch won't have screen burn in because it uses LTPO oled screen since series 5 when AOD is on
Space Black Titanium = lightest durable most scratch resistant apple watch due to matte diamond like carbon coating. Titanium is stronger than stainless steel when it comes to strength to weight ratio. It also has sapphire glass vs ionx glass in aluminum apple watch models which comprises moe than 99%of broken apple watch screens but I wish they update the sapphire glass because it still scratches at level 6 like in jerryrigeverything review amd still not like sapphire glass in traditional watches. The matte DLC coating is the most scratch resistant compared to glossy DLC coated stainless steel graphite and space black. Aluminum models can have nicks and scratches esp when bumped. Stainless steel and titanium silver scratches. Ceramic is brittle. Stainless Steel Silver is very catchy though and matches most bands and straps, and can be easily polished using a steel polisher and easily recognized as edition and no risk of peeled coating . One problem with titanium is people normally mistake them for aluminum which is cheap.
Thank you for the comment. That’s exactly what I’ve been searching for all along after I got my space black titanium watch. I know both stainless steel and titanium a durable but the natural colors scratch easily. At least the steel can be polished. I know the dark coating is extremely durable from my iPhone. But I had no clue how well the dark titanium would do.
JR7 i got the 5 stainless steel for the sapphire crystal face that is more scratch resistant than the standard aluminum face. The Apple Watch 6 discontinued the black finish to stainless steel opting for the gray instead. There were a lot of complaints that the black stainless steel which was glossy showed off scratches more. I think Apples solution was the Black titanium which is a brushed matte finish so you won’t be able to see any scratches as easily as it already has a brushed look. Apple again confirmed that the Edition watches-the stainless steel, titanium have the sapphire crystal display

Waste of money. More than a watch, it’s a wearable tech that will be obsolete perhaps in two years since its availability no matter you paid $1k or $500 for the aluminium ones.
@@JulAlxAU All Apple Watches have Li-ion batteries built in that over years time is going to wear down.
