Thank you for this beautiful film. You've captured a moment in history with real class. I lived in York for many years, and it's very haunting to see this way.
This is a powerful experience watching for me. Born and raised in York, I now live thousands of miles away in Cleveland, Ohio. My parents still live there separately; my mother in a care home. I was supposed to visit them at Easter and it will be at least a year, if i can fly over in August. I appreciate York so much living away anyway but while barren, this is so beautiful and very moving. Thank you so much for making this video and sharing for so many to enjoy
As a woman in my early 60’s I lived about x8 miles from York until I was 18. Last time I visited was about 8 years ago and was planning on a possible move back last year - as the pandemic hit. Quite haunting to see it like this - it’s the same all over the country. Lovely to see the city again. Thank you for posting 😊

Glenys Gallagher it’s not from an album, some people create music for video producers, tv and film etc and we pay a fee to use it. The artist may have created other tracks, and they might be a similar style or very different? Most will do different styles to fit different film footage, so they have a better chance of making a sale.

I mean yeah, York is in lockdown but you clearly went out to film very early in the morning or late evening. Town has been busy and crowded whenever I've had to pass through, so this isn't an accurate representation. There's plenty of people ignoring the lockdown.
It's late afternoon to early evening on a Saturday with a bit of Sunday. There are some people walking about here and there for sure, some of them live in town going to M & S etc to get food, a few in pairs going for walks. There are police patrols though looking out for groups of obvious flouters. During normal times, at this time, there would be thousands of people. For example, there was one person in front of the Minster at about 5pm. I guess I could have gone around to look for people to film if I wanted to show that? It's not really meant to be a statement though, it's more just me cycling round the tourist spots then putting together a little video of our beautiful town at this time for people see how nice it looks, and that it's all still there and being looked after - for the people who can't get to see it at the moment, who don't live in the city centre like me.

Nice movie but too much is shown the hot part of the buildings and the sky. Lockdown isn't there.
