    A perfect case study for this is Buakaw vs Mike Zambidis. I know it's K1, but can be applied to Muay Thai just as well.

    You really know what you are talking about. I started training back in the day with Rick Roufus in Tempe, Arizona back in 2005 or so. Good times. Switched to jitsu and MMA but love to see muay thai staying strong. Plus, it's a lot safer than jitsu or MMA in terms of long term damage to the body. I know, sadly.

    The clash of style a technician vs an aggressive power puncher is what make this sport so entertaining to watch. Great content

      You beat a puncher with kicks and beat a kicker with punches. Just like to beat a long range fighter you have to close the distance, you gotta fight long in order to beat a close range fighter.

    A link of a real fight as an example on how to stop an aggressive puncher would definitely enrich the lesson. :)

    If you are the puncher in this drill and the kicker is taller and longer than you, how do you cross the distance ?

    I like it but i find when u throw the roundhouse kick u are gonna get countered with a cross . They usually step in on the roundhouse. I try to turn the hip around more and block them w the shin and keep my guard tight n high

    • @KMAAcademy2020
      @KMAAcademy2020  5 месяцев назад

      🤔 if that were the case no one would throw roundhouse kicks . We suggest more practice w CONTROLLED sparring & also more bagwork with distance and timing focused . Thx for watching ✅

    Don’t you lose points for backing up tho?

    • @KMAAcademy2020
      @KMAAcademy2020  7 месяцев назад +2

      Good question, if you’re backing up in control , scoring points and maintaining balanced defense, no… but if you’re on the back foot , no balance, taking shots, not returning, basically getting run over… yes! Hope this helps , thanks for watching ✅✅
