BOTH OF THESE BANDS MADE FOR SUCH AN ENTERTAINING 5th quarter ,,,, JSu's last song was Perfection !!!!!
Yep it really was and that's what pissed me off. They wait till there's no one in the stands to play. This was no classic. SU showed up during the game and when JSU decided to play there was no one on the other side. It was a stupid day for me. That musicality of the first song SU played was very good though. I think I'm about to be done with bands cause they keep letting me down. You don't get to be #1 all year, I tell everyone your going to smoke SU and this happens.
Now that's the beast in the Boom im talking bout!
To be Honest they Both won, they raised the bar so damn high for Battles that it actualy fell like this is the Last Game of the Season,,.These are not the 2 Best band in the Land, they are the 2 best on the Planet, and no 1 can name 1 other band that can replace JSU or SU to give that type of Intense Battle as they done tonight and the night before.. They raised the bar, and created a whole level of Stands Battling. they way they were going at it you would think Money or someone's life was on the line.. But they gave us what we been waiting for the whole year and More.. Hats off to Both because none could have created what they did tonight without the Other.

I TOTALLY agree with you! I haven't seen a battle like this in a while, they raised the bar for HBCU bands - especially inter-conference and rivalry battles - on SO MANY LEVELS!! If every band prepared for their rivals the way these two did we would shut RUclips DOWN with views

Wow! Mr. Kedrick Taylor's "Can You Stand the Rain" was SOOO PRETTY & EMOTIONAL! 1ST TIME EVER I HEARD (FELT) THAT JSU WAS STRONG ACROSS THE BOARD. This is the JSU that I've heard about but never seen before. Never heard CLARITY from JSU before BUT stil lacking nuance and musicality. SU still smashed them. JSU, cranking is more than playing loudly. Y'all don't seem to understand that.

Both bands played conceptualized musical pieces, which are "arrangements"... There were not any original drawn parts played, nor the orginal composed scores and instrumentation used to be considered as "compositions"

I really don't get how yall caught a winner here... Both bands were awesome...
They where but no one can tell me from the beginning of the year and during JSU was #1. On the one day you know you need to show up, you wait till there's no one on the other side to flex your muscle. That's what really had me almost giving up on bands all together. This was not an enjoyable classic.

I believe both bands sounded good but where the hell was the booms trumpets? Low brass n mellows over powered them. Southern had a more balanced sound Ijs

After listening to this clip at least 50 times, JSU has a much cleaner sound. Southern doesn't sound bad. JSU just sounds better. JSU's arrangements seem more advanced as well.

Kisasa Bell su book is pretty basic. just in recent years they've gotten better. They were always known for playing WHOLE NOTES only. Dont try it

There was really no zero bc jsu didnt show up. Halftime was ok but both bands had a dramatic decrease in sound on the field. During the game jsu took a spanking because su dominated. JSU only played to try to cover up su. To the person that talked about clarity. Did you hear those runs in the first song from jsu? One of my padnas that marched for the boom said there wouldnt be a zero and that was established last week. Glad nobody told the U
you got a 3 song battle vs 15 teen songs apart at the battle of the bands the 5th quarter wasnt that big of a deal
I'm a SU fan but I think JSU had the edge. Both had nice arrangements. I gave the edge to JSU based in their power and dance moves in the stands. I wish we could fill up a stadium and have like 6 bands battle one the stands. No field show. U can be creative in the stands to. Bands sound better in the stands to me.

Both bands brung it. JSU was definitely louder. But I can't pick a winner.
JSU has always been the most powerful band but their directors and those trumpets keep me throwing up. PLAY THE DAMN SONG AND STOP PLAYING THE SHEET MUSIC
Jsu isn't powerful enough to say they have so many people. They should be way louder but SU has less people and are still tearing JSU a new asshole. As for Arrangements southern definitely wins because they have more technical parts within the songs and are still powerful.

monkeythehedgehog maybe they'll continue to play it this upcoming season. I also wished they'd played it at the BOTB against JSU on that Friday night. I was surprised they didn't, because the song is a MAJOR win for them.

Okay, after looking at the botb footage, game footage and halftime footage I made my decision...., southern toke the botb 's with better song selection and energy.... Can't lie and won't lie even though I love jsu.... But to say JSU didn't come back at the game where it counts too and put on a show well you're just hating... Southerns articulation on the first song of this fifth wasn't To good and maybe it's just the camera but it sounded like all that blowing at the botb caught with them in the fifth.... I give the fifth quarter to j. state and the halftime is personal preference, but I call it a tie. Great display from both bands.... Great music .... & I hope both keep working for bigger and better. I love this rivalry, and I will apologize to juke fans for my comments at times lol...I'm just a passionate fan of the boom but most importantly overall music.... But this yr was a great success for both. Good luck at the Honda boom! This classic shutdown all the rest!
Haltime is a personal preference?! David, you do realize that JSU only gets house on the field for the "traditional" songs that fans feel obligated to cheer for (Get Ready, JSU Rocks the House, Tiger Run-on, etc). Nothing NEW they do gets any attention. Watch the halftime clips again & LISTEN to the applause. Stop reaching - accept the L
@StateTrooper2k1 it is personal preference because they did do a new drill unlike southern who recycles and does the same old drills over and over again.... People like tradition both su and jsu cause if su wasn't a traditional base school, why did southern bring back the score of the game on the field and recycle it's shoes for house ? David Johnson I don't know what field show you were looking at but jsu got their asses handed to them. our drill was a fresh catered to tapping dat ass. we won with our hands down and the tonguing on that song was beast jsu is subpar get on our level. superior sound for our superior band yall trumpets are poo slap high school material I'm not going back n forth cause ray Charles can see we tap dat
+msbombbody look it's been a week and I'm not going to sit here and argue over points that you made that can't hold up even to what I just said and have been saying on southern since the begging of this season. If JSU sound is so pooh , high school, or sub par as you put it then Honda botb must have low standards to even let JSU in with southern this year so you can stop the hate cause both are quality in their own ways and thats fact. Halftime was su's usual in my opinion... And you're entitled to your opinion..., but c'mon yal recycled that drill and played a new song and spelled js - who ... Dolls were ok ... And the house yal got was from the diss. Jsu had a new drill and are trying to at least do something new unlike southern... The 5th belongs to jsu because they executed better... JSU trumpets are staying in the pocket of the band this yr , but when featured are not cutting through this yr when they need to.. And that's fair ... But southern plays great arrangements and disgraces them at times with bad tone in the tubas , skating trumpets, and very very sharp tones in the brass... No southern executes their arrangements in a very sub par manner and gets a slap on the wrist cause "oh their arrangements are top notch" and yal su fans need to recognize arrangements are nothing without execution. Again JSU takes the 5th and zero... And southern takes botb... And halftime is preferable to what you are looking for new drill or recycled drill with a cheap diss. #LuvTheBoom

Our trumpets are the best in the world and all the arrangements well above staff.plus I played trumpet. jsu don't have any chops. you don't even need to know anything about music to hear that juke chords are higher. just listen to the dam music whether played in piano or forte but this settles this who the ncaa named the number one band in the world su enuff said. o for clarification I never said they weren't good they just not good enuff. dats all jukkkkkkkkkkkkke 4 lyfe baby

That was that one song (if arranged better) you had Southern but because you're focused on the loudness of a song instead of giving it everything the song already offered you short changed yourself. First of all the word is "continuously" secondly they're not continuously louder but it was to be expected this year because JSU is a lot bigger than Southern this year and they didn't even win that margin by much. Thirdly JSU and the word complicated not compicated (learn to spell) shouldn't even be in the same sentence. JSU took L's this whole weekend. Accept it and keep it trucking my dude.
