@Andrea De Luca Yeah, it depends on what makes the character "OP" cause if the show is about a protag being OP from a narrative/meta stance then that can be considered a form of plot armor. Ex: I read a manga with the premise being about the antics/misadventures of a seemingly perfect individual who possessed an ability to instantly learn and perfect anything. At some point in the story, a literal "concept" goddess acting as the next big bad admitted aloud that because the titular character was a protag, she would simply get beat due to the character's associated plot armor/ plot convenience that comes with being a protag and opted not to fight her.
@Andrea De Luca Yes. Personally, I disagree that it doesn't have relevance towards the discussion because regardless of the origin point of ignition (being external or internal), the subject matter (plot armor) is being utilized, perceived, and experienced by both the characters and the readers from within the narrative. I like to think that the whole situation is like an onion, the more you peel at it, the more connections to other applications (layers) can be discovered.

what i like about this is how consistent DAMAGE is for viltrumites, they have a high amount of resistance, which feels as if they had a shield around them which decays with impacts like mark can take 2 powerful blows without damage, but 5 more of these blows and he'll start taking damage
Another thing I absolutely love about this show since I binged season 1 and 2, is that Mark doesn’t get used to his powers right off the bat like most superheroes do in other media, here it takes a bit of episodes halfway through the season just for mark to get used to a simple thing like landing or slowing down mid-flight, it really shows how having super powers and trying to master them is difficult which is a very accurate way of depicting it, and then by season 2 he’s already mostly mastered his powers but still has a long way to go before he reaches Nolan’s level, I’m so hyped for season 3 and for the blue suit to be apart of it! Thank you Prime Video for giving us this masterpiece of a show!👍
Notice how Mark leaves every battle with his costume in tatters. Invincible isn’t just his superhero persona. It’s an adjective for his willpower. The man under the suit will always hold true to that identity, no matter how much of it you strip away.
When I first heard of the show I was hoping Mark’s name would be Vince, to match his character, but then I realised he could’ve called himself ReMARKable, but I guess that doesn’t sound as good.

8:10 unironically the coolest 1960s comic logic moment of the show
See I didnt fully guess the reason for what Omni man did but once he gives the reveal it makes so much more sense why he was always pushing Mark to only worry about saving the world. The world as a whole he does actually care about humans he doesnt want it to be wiped out so he tries to break the fighting spirit of humanity.
what i like about this is how consistent DAMAGE is for viltrumites, they have a high amount of resistance, which feels as if they had a shield around them which decays with impacts
like mark can take 2 powerful blows without damage, but 5 more of these blows and he'll start taking damage
"hey you mind if i take a rock? no hard feeling right? k bye!" this man is jus different
The amount of speed and strength mark has is insane, like when he rushes to his dad in the hospital, moved so fast to make an afterimage

'How do I animate this scene?'
'just fuck around with a png, that usually works'
The man under the suit will always hold true to that identity, no matter how much of it you strip away.
i sometimes forget how unbelievably strong Nolan and Mark are
Wait till Thragg gets introduced.
@@Godsecution fr
@@Godsecution I mean technically mark and Allen are the most powerful characters in the whole universe just not at this point so I mean
@@daquaviousbingleton9763 ehh I think Thragg is stronger than Allen
I also like how Nolan is incredibly strong even for a viltrumite. He was able to gut a guy that pushed marks head into the ground with A FINGER
5:47 I wonder how in the 2nd season Mark will use his Spartan Mode to be OP like Omni-wn
"wanna get a pizza?"
*sobbing*
When I first heard of the show I was hoping Mark’s name would be Vince, to match his character, but then I realised he could’ve called himself ReMARKable, but I guess that doesn’t sound as good.
About the same as Spider Gwen.
I like how they explain the flight at least in this section of the show as just jumping really hard and keeping your altitude as you fall
Mark just went four on one of those flags and I love that

@Mpk lol maybe don’t spoil the show please
Seriously this guy just reminds me of kid flash (Wally West) in young justice. Like his super suit does actually with the hair I like it!
“Try a little more like this…”
“Like what?”
We all know what happens here
I love how in the start of the show, Omni man was training mark and now in the end of the show he’s literally TRAINING Mark
Funny how that baseball goes thru Mount Everest but gets stopped in it’s tracks by a regular glove.
Can’t wait to see invincible become the most powerful. He beats thragg and by that time his father wouldn’t come close
bro... spoilers >:(
@@coltywolty01 I’m sorry, it’s a long way down the road and there is a lot of source material
Bro doesnt that take like millions of years
@@nebules9523 nah he beats Thragg in like 10ish years from season one
How tf are these people in highschool LOL. They draw them like they're 27.
Really? I thought they were in college lol
@Ben John Twas but a joke
Most of them are tall but i've seen plenty of highschoolers like that
Well everyone in the show that are teenagers are 17
Right, they’re all like 17-18, maybe it’s a stylistic choice cs I for sure don’t look like that at 17 lol but it’s not like it’s rare to see.
Life lesson: if ur falling...just stop
That kid in 17:18
Looks like the same kid he met on the plane while he was flying and saluting
“We’re cool right? I’m gonna take this rock. Yeah? Yeah, okay.”
-Mark Grayson
