For anyone watching this today, you don’t need to pop out the plastic holder with clips. Simple rotate the bulb holder to release, pull the old bulb out, put back in place and twist. Much faster and simpler. Plastic piece is not meant to be removed easily

That links takes you to "Philips 128016000KB1 38mm Festoon Bright White Interior Vision LED Light, 1 Pack" for $20.00 and does Not fit the 2004 F150..... they changed it on you apparently. Just type in the search bar "194 LED Bulb, License Plate Light" and you'll see it....$6.79 for two bulbs as of today...Thanks for the video my friend!

This is what I needed to know in order to replace my tag lights. Bought the 2005 F150, but no manual. Good tip about the led lights needing to be checked before reassembling into the bumper.

Nice video, i had tried changing mine to different whole housings with leds built in, well the way they plugged into the old bulb holders is not very good and can unplug themselves or bounce around and snap off like mine. Now you showed me how to put led bulbs in the oem housings! So i just ordered new oem housings and used your link for the bulbs. Thanks!!

I tried to pop the plastic from the outside, as it look like it had a little slot in the plastic to fit a flat head crew driver to pop it off. anyway I think the plastic part broke off. Fortunately I think it's a pretty clean break and some glue will hold it back and seal it off. Thanks for the video, the view from underneath is what I needed.

That's the hard way. Just reach behind, twist out , pull wire , remove old bulb, insert new, twist back in.
