I loved this episode because it subtly showed us a more sentimental side of Scrooge. They don't outright say it, but it's pretty clear that Scrooge's dislike of parties stems from that fact that he misses his friend Duckworth. Sure he may not want to be reminded that he's getting older and he's naturally become a bit of a recluse, but it must also hurt to have to be constantly reminded that Duckworth is no longer with him.
Juan Sanchez Also, while it was a brief moment, I loved it when Scrooge smiled when he saw Duckworth for the first time.
Likely as much that without a butler, someone dedicated to managing the house and hosting its guests, Scrooge isn't happy having parties thrown in his house without someone competent to manage them, and it's clear enough that Scrooge won't hire just anyone as his personal staff. Might be interesting given Huey is eager to take managerial roles- maybe he could take a few lessons from Duckworth on how to do it right.
+Seaniccus did you ever noticed that in the first episode when Webby shows the triplets the board with pictures of their family there´s a picture of kinda like a ghost at the very bottom the board with a caption that says ´´who´s cleaning my room?´´ or something like that. Webby probably solved the mystery and that´s why she didn´t got surprised when she saw him because she already knew he was around.
Imagine waking up in the middle of the night and seeing a horror movie monster cleaning your room
Ghost Duckworth is probably going to be the best version of Duckworth. I loved how snarky he was towards Mrs. Beakly. Shows that they had some kind of rivalry when he was alive.
He does seem to have a little more fire in him than the original version!
Yeah the old Duckworth has some whit to him but never really had any punch to his one liners.
I love how Donald just left he was like NOPE not today. WAWAWAWAWAWAWAWAWA!!!!!!
That is so funny. Duckworth was right in front of us the whole time! Those sneaky bastards trolled us!!! This show is amazing!
I hope Duckworth and Beakley could have a friendly rivalry in the series. I loved their exchange at the end
"Tell me, do you always leave the house this shabby?"
"I liked you better when you were dead."
Also, if you're gonna talk more about Duckworth in the future, would you also consider other side characters? Specifically Gizmoduck and maybe Gyro too?
I want to do a lot of the side characters eventually
Glad Duckworth made a comeback, though now deceased and assisting Scrooge from beyond the grave, not sure how he rewrites history though following his lyrics queue in the intro. In all honesty I thought the Triplets would ask why he’s called Duckworth when he’s actually a dog, unfortunately that wasn’t the case. This fate of Duckworth now deceased also seems to pay homage to his original voice actor Chuck McCann believe it or not, who passed away earlier this year.
Except Chuck passed away BEFORE this was created.
CuriousUserX90 in the dutch version duckworth is called stoetewolf, the name is closer to a dog at least
swarlock Chuck McCann’s death came after this episode premiere outside the US. Meanwhile the US premiere came over a month after then.
CuriousUserX90 oh I see
I think Sweden got the most generic name for him. Albert XP So the Duckworth joke whould not work outside of the US and other countries that did´t direct translate his name. So I am happy for that. The nice thing with this episode is that the original voice returned to voice Duckworth again, he even did the Ghost voice too. So far 3 voices from the original run of Ducktales have returned to play their characters in Swedish. Ms Beackly (Ms Matilda) Donald Duck and ofcourse Flintheart Glomgold. I am now awaiting the Gizmoduck episode to hear if he got a new voice or his old one back.
It was an unexpected twist. And I like him better this way.
swarlock true
He's more useful with his new ghost powers
"How'd you know it was me?"
"It's always you."
"AND IT ALWAYS WILL BE! AH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Best exchange in the whole show.
Tickle my Tailfeathers (though I’m a human), both in the Original DuckTales and the DuckTales Reboot, Huey can do a good impression of Scrooge’s accent. I like how creative these triplets are becoming.
This is the greatest troll of all time. The amount of time I spent going over that intro when it was revealed Duckworth was in it was an embarrassingly high number of times. This episodes reveal got a pretty good laugh out of me. Man this show is fun.
I think Webby has communicated with Duckworth's ghost in the past before the triplets came which is why she wasn't phased because he might have been somebody to listen to her when she couldn't talk to Beakly because she was working. And those two also have a past, maybe before Webby came to live at the manor.
I cannot wait to see how Donald reacts!
*_I like DJ Daft Duck._* 🎶
Oh and it's great Duckworth's back too👻👻👻
"It's always you." "AND IT ALWAYS WILL BE!!!" I love that line. (the second line in quotation marks)
Oh, he definitely sticks around. You remember that one Welcome to Duckberg short on Miss Beakley? She sucked up some ghost in it. You know what else? She seemed to have a very clear rivalry with him at the end of this episode. So I propose: That ghost in the short was Duckworth.
Would love to hear more of your thoughts on Duckworth.
And I love the joke the episode ends on. "I liked you better when you where dead"
This was a pretty funny episode, and Louie is the worst party planner ever LOL.
"You gave me one hour to put together a guest list!"
-Llewellyn "Rebel" Duck.
I wouldn't mind waiting for your thoughts on Duckworth.
I think that this was one of the funniest episodes of Ducktales yet! Golmgold is always a hoot, Mark Beaks was even funnier than usual, there were some great puns, with very few mist opportunities (hah), and of course, DJ Dewey.
This show just keeps getting better and better, and man was this episode fantastic! As Shyamalan would say: "WHAT A TWIST!"
Also, if you plan to do a video about Duckworth, you think you will also do a tribute to his original voice actor Chuck McCann?
It was such a good voice. At some point Scrooge needed him to drive faster and he said “The pedal is to the floor, sir” in such an amazing, dry tone
This is a kid’s show.
Webby: *casually mentions death*
I love that, as Duckworth was missing until this Episode and everyone was trying to think of why, which makes me realize how wrong it feels when Scrooge appears but Duckworth isn’t seen.
Also, this version of him is so fun, in spite of his limited screen time after this episode
Im on a Review marathon once again and watching this one I wish they involved Duckworth more often. He’s hardly in the show, which is a shame because he’s in the intro and the spin they put on this character is honestly just GREAT! I would love to see so much more of him but I understand that the crew has priorities to choose. The amount of history they are able to incorporate (successfully no less!) is unbelievable! And yet, I still wish this character would get a bit more but that’s nit picking on the highest level.
I love this show and your reviews! Your reviews enhance the show experience on such a huge level, for me you and the show always go together. Thank you so much for your work and enthusiasm, I wouldn’t be able to enjoy and especially appreciate the shows brilliancy if it wasn’t for you ^^
Go for it man, i wanna know how you feel about duckworth after this episode! I hope he stays around just to mess with beakley! :D
I want your thoughts on Duckworth!!!
OUTATIME I can't believe he is dead
Me either but I seriously will be over the moon if he stays in the show as a ghost.
OUTATIME Oh I want Duckworth to stay as well
Really hoping that Black Arts pops up more. Easily one of the funniest antagonists of the show and he has a really cool and surprisingly adorable character design.
No jokes, before they revile that it's Ma Beagle I was under immpresion that this is witch Mim.
akane saotome Mad Madom Mim is human. Neither version of the show has had humans. Unless she gets a backstory including reality hopping, she'll need a species reassignment for the reboot.
Starcat5 not really, she was a recurring ducktales comics villain with ties to the beagle boys, magica (of course) and black pete.... who's more of a mickey villain I admit. They have this with their magically inclined characters in other areas too, paddywack from darkwing feeds on a diet of 'human misery', which means he know what humans are, for example.
I LOVE THIS CAST! I’m going to say it: THIS CAST IS THE BEST CAST THAT I HAVE EVER SEEN! (I wish I was apart of it! 😭) I also want to see Webby and Beakly’s side of the story! 🤩
Yes, how did you skip over that Webby and Beakly might be from an Island of Amazon warriors. Scrooge got lost there when Beakly was young, got duty bound to him and has gone back to the Island from time to time with her probably daughter then granddaughter when the planes are aligned that just happens to fall on Scrooge's birthday.
come to order! the cartoon judge! ~ IKR!?!🤩
We can't wait to see your full Duckworth video! We definitely love this video, but our DVR cut off the end so we couldn't see Miss Beakley interacting with the Duckghost!
The thing (outside of duckworth) I like about this episode is the reveal of another Beagle. Im hoping they either become a 'once an episode' type... or If we get recurrences from those outside the Original Classics.
Maybe an episode about a Turf War between the Sixth Avenue Friendlies and the Sixth Avenue Meanies. Maybe one of the kids thinks morally they shouldnt fight or maybe them fighting is more trouble than their usual crimes.
A truly amazing and awesome video.:D
Oh, and suggestion: perhaps best wait until the end of the season, but it might be interesting to make one or more videos about your first impressions of the new Ducktales characters vs how they turn out to be in the first season, as follow-ups to your videos about the individual characters.
Can't believe they trick us now saw that intro again and found him
I didn't even know they had this episode. Thanks for talking about it so I can watch it. :)
I would say this is one of my favorite episodes of the first season of the 2017 Ducktales series. The fact that David Kaye (Soun Tendo on Ranma 1/2) is the voice of Duckworth is a nice touch :) Should you be up to doing a video about Duckworth discussing him in more detail compared to his original counterpart, I would love to see it :)
Definitely want to hear more about Duckworth. Great video, keep it up!
I was actually at that table read
Lucky! If I knew it was going on I might have used it as an excuse to go
What a way for Disney to tell Sean his Duckworth theory was 'dead' wrong.
Things I took from the episode:
Dewey's Disco Helmet was hilarious.😂
On the crossword puzzle board I found the words DIME and GOLD.
And the Duckworth twist was awesome.
(As well as Beakley's reaction to him😋)
Make sure to check the wordsearch for a hint to whole episode!
This channel deserves more subs
I know it's Disney and all, but this idea that Duckworth died prior to the start of the series could be a awesome "dark drama" theme to mine. When exactly did he die? Was it natural causes or some sort of accident Scrooge blames himself for? Is there a darker reason that Duckworth stayed in the manor rather than pass on to the afterlife? The possibilities are endless!!!
3:04 Flintheart Glumgold never stops to amuse me
I loved Duckworth in the original series, so I'm glad to see his return and that everyone, including Scrooge, really valued him. If you have more to say about Duckworth in another video, I'd be interested in watching it!
Ironically, Duckworth's original voice actor, Chuck McCann, passed away just recently.
This is like the creators of Friends called a "bottle" shows, when they keep the setting in one location
I just want a reaction from Donald upon seeing Duckworth. That'd be hilarious!
I wouldn’t mind a video Duckworth. Also I was hoping to see how Donald would react to see the ghost of his uncle’s butler in the episode but I was fine with what we got with Duckworth and Ms Beakley’s interaction at the end and Duckworth sort of reminds me of Neils from The Nanny other than the fact they are butlers but how Duckworth talks and acts
i loved this Ep i saw it on my DVR and it was so awesome it was fun to watch.
Poor Duckworth he maybe gone but not for-got-en.
Amazing show.
good video as always dude!
I love Dewey and the keyboard, it was hilarious!
Not sure what I find funnier, Duckworth being such a waspy muthaf**ka to Mrs. Beakly, or the fact that "the butler did it" is written backwards along the top and down the left of that word search board.
I need more of the emo beagle boy who just wants to be a magician
I can't wait to see that episode with the air pirate like ship ...........I wanna see talespin
Also the table read gives us the best version glomgold portrayed by David Tennant
Stan for Disney: "OH, MY GOD! They killed Duckworth!".
Kyle: "YOU BASTARDS!".
Love ur vid...Definitely more on Duckworth pls
I just got done watching the table read and it was great
I love DuckTales and this is my favorite DuckTales channel you are the reason why I love DuckTales
4:25 read the first line of the crossword backwards and down
"The butler did it" ?
Why is the Dog named Duckworth wouldn't Dogworth make more sense.
icecream hero maybe he was adopted by ducks.
icecream hero That’s been pointed out pretty frequently, a dog named Duckworth that might’ve actually been raised by Ducks.
The pun would have worked better if it was poodleworth or puppyworth.
Simbaholic Yes Duckworth is the silliest last name I have heard in my life. At lest DuckTales's Duckworth is a cartoon character. Cartoon characters are allowed to have silly names.
Simbaholic The show you are looking for is Adventure Time
I love the table read
Happy b- b- birthday!
I actually watched the live reading a few days ago before knowing about the ep proper (I’ve been distracted and only started trying to watch the show recently) and for a while I’d convinced myself that the story they were reading was an event exclusive (though I’d already learned about the twist at the end.)
Still feel bad for watching reviews before watching the full episodes...
No comment on that Windex gag?! For shame!
I can’t comment on everything haha
Anyone gonna talk about the word search spells out 'THEBUTLERDIDIT' or the variety of other McDuck related phrases are hidden in the mix?
Not really but.
Next time, please count as a spoiler.
*WAIT!* I have a theory a TV Theory! What if the reason why he hates his birthday is because that's the day Della Duck Disappeared which would be a big cliff hanger and that duckworth died
2:18 Even the Live Table Read of this episode described Nik Nokturne as Criss Angel, but somehow worse.
Do a video on the possibility of ghost Duckworth battling Magica's Shadow form!
“Wait, *floof* how did you know it was me?”
“It’s always you.”
I am hoping we see more of him in the new season.
I’m so glad they brought duckworth!!
Yes more thoughts on Duckworth. I love this reveal.
My husband actually thought Nik Nokturn was voiced by Will Arnett! XD
Me too!
At the beginning of this episode, Louie, says: "Literally the oldest person he knows."
That made me think about the episode "Sweet Duck Of Youth." though, the only similarities are the fact its Scrooges birthday and what Louie said. And what he said may not even be true? QUESTION!? What episode are you looking forward to? I just can't wait for the episode Goldie is in. (Back to the Klondike, was my favorite episode and still is.)
It looks like McMystery at McDuck McManor is part of "Season 1, Volume 2" on Amazon Video. But it turns out I have to buy the whole part 2 of the season to watch it properly on Amazon Prime without my sister's stuff (my family's current package for Xfinity doesn't even INCLUDE Disney Channel OR Nickelodeon OR Cartoon Network)!
I did love the table read
I’m curious to hear what you think about Marshmello’s FLY music video, featuring the Ducktales gang.
I love the sorcerer guy😂
Nik Nocturne, aka Black Arts Beagle, reminds me a bit of Sterling Archer, or someone similar sounding.
4:07- Oh my fucking God...That is Scanlan Shotholt . I mean Sam Riegal from Critical Role
Insure hope Duckworth sticks around, that would be great XD
i love how in sweden duckworth's name is albert
Was that Sam Riegel in the live cast shots?
I seen the episode before whaching this and its one of the best
[Spoilers for those who haven't watched]
In an episode I thought it was funny when Beakly said "I'm not sure if I should be concerned that he went down instead of up" or somewhere along those lines when Duckworth left and phased through the ground in the season 2 finale
You said Nokturne reminded you of Job from Arrested Development. Aren't they both played by the same actor?
I agree with you that the live reading is way better especially after you see the episode
So duckworth is the old butler and mrs b. Is the house keeper
Well hopefully this means that the entirety of McDuck Manor’s faculty can make it to Poker Night. There’s a lot to catch up on.
First. Also, great video my dude!
Only Scrooge would have Megatron on retainer. ;)
And I loved Ma Beagle's sardonic reaction to Mark Beaks.
What is the name of episode 14 Ducktales
also the live version is amazing bc you get to see sam riegel and he does some of the voices!
The part was the Daft Punk helmet on Dewey
Oh yeah what do you think Webby was during the episode?
5:17 Descendant? Relative? Open possibilities.
I love DUCKTALES
He came back in season 3
Am I thre only one that saw Ma & GlomGold in the first two seconds?
