Hello and welcome to our video on workplace dress codes. As professionals, we want to look good and feel confident at work. But what is appropriate attire in the workplace? Today, we're going to talk about the do's and don'ts of dress codes at work.
Firstly, the company should select a dress code in which employees feel confident and professional, and it maintains a positive image of the company. The dress code should align with the company's image, list proper attire for both men and women, and specify when business attire is important. It's also crucial to explain to employees why dressing properly is important.
On the other hand, allowing employees to wear whatever they want can lead to confusion and harm the working environment. It's important to set a dress code for everyone in the company to maintain a professional image. Additionally, treating employees poorly because of dress code violations is not acceptable. Lastly, keep in mind that the dress code cannot conflict with an employee's religious practices or national origin.

People no longer dress in Business attire going to work. I am retired but I rode the Metro bus in Washington, D.C. to the dentist last week. All the young and older professionals getting on the bus were dressed casual.

It's interesting how work attire has evolved over the years. Casual dress codes seem to be more common now, even in professional settings. It must have been quite a change for you observing this shift after being retired!

When your just starting in junior high school son comes home to tell you about how someone visited him and his class mates to suggest that all there soon after applying for the job in the military where they work will get to wear a special hat which offers him supernatural vision then I am not supposed to be concerned about that too? That is what was going on in the public school system soon after 9/11 took place.
