Your system is what i think i need! I get so overwhelmed watching other creators, but this no nonsense method i know i could do, and could definitely work for me! Thanks!
I think this is the most useful tip I have gotten about using Midori notebook. In fact, this system of putting the rough / junk separate from the main could also be applied elsewhere. I had been partially doing it without thinking about it, but now I can properly apply it to my case.
i love your idea of using 2 notebooks - one to organise and the other to brain dump. for years, i’ve had scrappy pieces of paper to keep my brain dumps - great for recycling paper / junk mail! it worked as i could throw away the stuff i had actioned and just hung on to longer term ideas. however having a list of stuff completed (strikethrough) would have been much more satisfying to reflect on.
I've started doing the micro journaling, too, and it's a lot more comfortable for me. I don't like to journal in a traditional manner. And I've managed to stick with it for several months now! My junk notes have been in between the weekly layouts, but this two notebook system makes a lot more sense to me.
I got a Midori knock off, after always having the name brand “Midori “ etc. and love it the same, the only one that notices is me👍🏼. I like my Passport size, it goes every where with me.
I did not know it was Notebook day, I missed that. Love my Traveler's Notebooks. I have 5 now and also all of the minis. It's the best system around for me.
I like this! This is exactly what I do with my passport size Traveler's Notebook since I don't do scrapbooking with washi tapes and all fancy stickers, Hello Kitty whatnot whatever. Cheers
Thanks for your ideas, I like your system which I will be adopting. Have you considered inserting a piece a blotting paper to use as a page divider but also to absorb undried ink? I immediately decided to do this with mine. Sometimes I like using a fountain pen, which is why I have blotting paper on hand. I have just ordered a multi pen that has five colors refills, so I will be using that to catagorise. I am learn from everyone's experiences. I have already planned to use both sizes. Only because the passport is handy outside the house but the standard for home, dealing with finances and regular weekly events. I feel we have fallen victim to relying to heavily on organizing our lives digitally. It can't last forever the way society is constantly changing. Especially with the degregation of social media platforms lately. Anyway, thanks for sharing, very useful.
Great video. I'm currently using a passport size midori as a journal and for notes. I never liked the dimensions of the larger midori, but the system you were using looks very manageable.
Have you tried one of the Paper Republic leather covers yet? It fits a standard sized A6 notebook plus it doesn't have that annoying little clasp on the back like the Midori's have.
If you get a small binder clip (like these or whatever: www.etsy.com/uk/listing/279449528/15-bulldog-clips-5-pastel-colors-binder?ref=market), you can clip it onto the cover of one of the inserts and use that as a pen loop :)
This was my suggestion too. I prefer adding pens this way than a true pen loop. This method allows me to adjust my pen holder to the length and clip for the notebook. Thank you! I enjoyed your video.
They are A5 Fabriano EcoQua notebooks. I got them from an art store on campus for about $4.50 each, but I think you can also get them at Dick Blick or on Amazon. And I had them cut to 4.25" wide at a print store. :-)
Hi! Nice video! Do you have any issues with the black dye rubbing off on to the cover of your inserts? I had that problem with my black passport Midori and ended up returning it...
That thing at the back you've called a clasp or soemthing, and which understandably bothers you - is it functional or just aesthetic nonsense that any reasonable person should remove promptly before use?

Miss your Videos!! I learned so much in such little time! Hope all is well!
Thanks for your time. I appreciate the detailed description of the way you use these notebooks.
Thank you for sharing 😊
After seeing your video the first time I put another elastic in my Midori camel passport. Great idea! Thanks.

The Feathered Hag where did you get yours?
I like how you use the two notebooks together.

I enjoyed your video. Simple and clean setup in the black passport midori.

i like the idea of no accessories... sometimes less is more :)
It was Doctor Henry Jones that influenced me to carry (not necessarily a Midori) a journal as an edc
The Midori pen loop is decent, I have been using one of mine since the beginning with my lamy2000

I love love love your bujo in the Standard TN!!! I wish you could say how it worked for you in the passport size!

Loved this! I just ordered a regular TN in camel :-) Can I ask where you got those inserts? The orange and purple? Thanks

Aammm...
I wondered why a "physicist" would need to know when payday was. By the end of the video I knew why.
