I have really enjoyed this great video, especially whare the train runs along the side of the river whare you can see the reflection of the train, l don't think I have ever seen anything like that before, so a very big thank you to all those who have taken the time to make this wonderful video 👍👍👍.
Lovely! Beautiful shots and panning, especially across the Dart with the reflection of the progress of the various consists. The wildlife feature, too. Great work.
I do fondly remember when in it was in London transport livery. In fact, when I was a child my dad named it “granny and grandpa’s train” because they both grew up near panniers
I knew 5786 when it was owned by the Worcester locomotive society based at the Bulmer's Railway Centre in Hereford. During the fuel crises in the 1970s it got several days work shunting coke hoppers of apples onto the Bulmer's weighbridge.
Lovely weathering on 5786 and giving a great portrait of a Devon branch line in days gone by. 5526 gave a good impression of a sports car pulling away from traffic lights, she's a bit nimble😂😂😂 Isn't bright sunlight a pain for photography, the reflection in the Dart was clearer!!! Great wildlife capture👍👍👍
She really did look the part That departure was surprising to witness. Though a good demonstration of the advantage of light auto-train working. Thanks very much, Bob!
Nice video, interesting thing about this paint scheme is that the latter logo that they have put on it did not get used till after 1958 and 5786 was sold to London Transport in 1958 so it would not have worn it.. But she does look nice back in the BR scheme.
I was wondering if 5786 had ever carried that crest, given its sale date to London Transport. Thank you for confirming it didn't. As you say, looks great regardless of authenticity.
@@TheSouthernerYTChannel I had researched about 5786 as I was doing a 7mm model of her and that is I know about the crest, Mine is done as it would have looked in 1957 a year before she was sold.
In 🇩🇪 there are boiler periods that end after a certain time. And when everything has been overhauled, there is a new boiler period. Is it the same for you ?
It's the same over here, yes. Boiler ticket lasts for 10 years, valid from the first successful hydraulic and steam tests after the boiler has been overhauled, and subject to annual inspections after that. 7 years, if the locomotive is mainline certified due to higher stress and wear rates.
I’ve seen that loco before in 2015 when it was in LT livery on the Severn valley railway spring gala

Any idea on the cause of 5526 failure ?
Are the SDR not going to overhaul 5786 ?

what's going to happen to 5786?
