That it the definition of the best musicians and songwriter, that's called perfect jam, love LOVE IT, no one will ever compare to his talent , Crìs music will be one of his AMAZING legacy, may Gd Blessings be upon you abundantly
Probably when he was at his best, the cancer hadn't fully raised it's ugly head by this time and his performances were superb, one of the best concerts he has played; nowadays he still plays as well but hasn't the stamina to play a 2 hour session, he plays 50 minutes and is worn out, he has lost all his physical energy but he still can play the BLUES as good as if not better than anyone else, he still has that great HUSKY voice which suits his songs perfectly, have been a fan of Chris Rea for about 35 years now and he has aged and matured in all aspects.
Back in 2006, when he did this concert, ("The Road To Hell & Back Tour, 2006), he was really starting to feel the discomfort of the ugly, insidious disease (Pancreatic Cancer) that he has and had only had a few if the many operations that he has had since first diagnosed since 1994; it was in the early 2000's that he bought his own Recording Company ("Jazzee Blues") so that he wouldn't be under the pressures applied by other Record Companies who he had contracts with, as they were offering him millions to do duets with other "famous stars", but as he said "I was never a pop/rock star and my illness has given me the chance to do what I always wanted to do with music [....] the best change for my music has been concentrating on stuff which really interests me". In doing so, he knocked back millions of pounds from his previous recording companies and as his own boss he concentrated on the BLUES, which has always been his primary love, he didn't care if he didn't make millions of pounds, but did want to enjoy what he was doing, as he believed that was the way to happiness and hopefully a longer life (Seems to have paid off so far, although you can tell that in later years he was succumbing to the cancer and the endless operations that were needed to keep him alive, obviously it is worth it to him as he has to take handfuls of pills every day and he has to inject medicine into his body on numerous occasions daily). But even in the shortened concerts he does these days, it is a outright privilege to sit back and listen to a genius at work, he will be leaving a great big hole in the Music World when he stops playing because of his illness and God forbid, him passing away, there are very few (actually NONE in my humble opinion) who will leave as BIG a LEGACY as he will in the MUSIC SCENE !! God Bless you Chris Rea.
Sorry I don't have Spanish as one of my four languages (English, French, Thai & Flemish) in my personal repertoire and obviously my auto translator isn't working on You Tube, so I concur with the other reply. ??
