Thousands of obstructed seats and even the TV view was obstructed on one end of the rink. The Islanders playing now in UBS Arena made me realize just how bad the Barclays Center was for hockey. This was the line that they used when they built the new arena. “Made for music, built for hockey.”
As an Islander fan it took some getting use too. Not every seat is good but there are some good seats too. I can see some people not liking the location but it's an easy train ride and even easier in their second season eliminating some of the transfers. The main issue for me is that they can't get the ice cold enough to meet Nhl standards. I hope they fix that before we lose players to free agency cause the soft ice
HockeyIsMine 91 they should've made the arena designed for hockey instead of basketball so for both games the scoreboard would be in the middle & the seats's view could've been better
BruhIts Pop Style The nets didnt plan on having to share the arena with a hockey team full time, thats why the seats are that way for basketball and concerts.
As an Islanders fan, looking back on their time in Brooklyn makes me realize how terrible the situation was there for parts of five seasons. No good free agents signed with the Islanders when they played in Brooklyn full time and when they split games between Brooklyn and a renovated Nassau Coliseum. Even though they now have a permanent home, they STILL can’t get the big fish free agents to come. Their most notable free agent signing of summer 2024 was Anthony Duclair and he suffered a major injury five games into this season and he won’t be back anytime soon.
Don't get me wrong the Barclay's Center is an outstanding venue. But it just not really built for hockey. It was a good idea at the time though to bring the islanders to Brooklyn (temporarily).
@@xJah6 I just went to a concert there last night, and it's reallllly nice! It doesn't look like a hockey arena though because it's definitely too nice and not very fitting.
The Coyotes played in a basketball arena like this for years. It was terrible. Why did the Islanders think the exact same setup was going to be fine for them? Baffling.
The Nassau Coliseum had grown obsolete, and was in terrible need of renovations. And the Barclay's Center was the only available option where the team could play. Thankfully, Barclay's Arena and the newly renovated Nassau Coliseum bought the Islanders some time while the new UBS Arena was built.
They didn't have an option after their lease at the Nassau Coliseum expired in 2015. But now we have UBS Arena. They needed a new arena to stay on Long Island and they finally got it.
For hockey it was absolutely terrible. Thousands of obstructed seats. The team finally has their new arena that they needed for two decades. I saw Sebastian Maniscalco (comedian) at the Barclays Center in March 2022 and that was great. That was my first time at the Barclays Center for something that wasn’t a hockey game.
Im an isles fan and i agree that the seats suck.
Thebonesman yea

First of all. This whole arena was only made for the Brooklyn nets not hockey.

For everyone complaining about the setup of the Delta Center for the new Utah team, this arena was waaaaaayyyyyy worse.
It's a basketball arena
MOVE BACK TO NASSAU
I hope Islanders will return to the Coliseum
I love how this guy is trying his best to say anything good about this dump of a hockey arena.
GurahkWeavile It's a beautiful arena, it just sucks for hockey...
It’s not a dump. Just not a hockey stadium

This arena was specifically made for basketball. It even sucks for concerts. Especially if you have seats uptop.
all these new arenas are crammped. that includes metlife stadium, prudential stadium and Barclays
The car pisses me off, like why is it there..

"Very European" ? We don't have cars in our stadiums, we have fans and actual atmospheres
Y’all do have cars at hockey games I’ve seen it many times
They never should have left the colosseum
slapshot68 I agree but the coliseum is old and falling down
I believe it's ben renovated now, but they took some seats away
slapshot68 ya thank god
they redid it and the islanders are trying to go back its really nice

Thank the Lord we will never play another game here. This venue despised by Islanders fans and players alike.

@@pomerlain8924not the only option, they could’ve played at the izod center in the meadowlands where the devils used to play
Hope it is better for wrestling than hockey. I'm going to SummerSlam in 9 weeks there
I'm an islanders fan and I play ice hockey
did i ask?
why does it look rusty on the outside
New Jersey that's the design
Cuz it is rusty
This video should be called: Charles Wang (The isles owner) doesn't care about the Isles
So glad we don't play in that shit hole anymore
That Arena is nice but it’s not suitable for hockey at all
LOL at the NHL for dropping the ball on this arena. What a shame, and a waste.
The Barclays Center is terrible for hockey
u had one job....
This arena sucks
Ryan Scherbluk nah I went and it was great
