The Scale/compass you asked Garmin about, You pause the screen, touch the screen and it puts a pin like you do your way point, then move your your finger to another point and it gives you the distance. Great videos! keep up the good work.
I use the measuring tool on the Columbia River when I anchor in very swift current. There are hog lines with boats anchored next to each other. The measuring tool guides me to put out exactly 150ft ft of line out when I anchor.
Do they now have an offset for maps plus also, I have transducer mounted on the trolling motor, so I need an offset for that since it's 18" or more below the surface. Thanks
From what I’m reading the Garmin Navionics Vision Plus $249 have what’s called dynamic lake level to adjust contour line depths. I don’t believe the regular Garmin Navionics Plus have that feature. As far as an installation offset that can be a bit of a double edged sword. I’m not sure it will let you set installation depth higher than the transducer depth for purposes of alarms and auto guidance. I could be totally wrong on that but I would be careful. Have a great day Eddie
I’m by no means an expert but I have seen what I believe was the thermocline by turning my sensitivity all the way to high in clear vu and I’ve seen what appeared to be a line with the fish suspended above it and nothing below. I normally leave the sensitivity on low but the fish were positioned weird so I tried it.
I contacted Garmin concerning depth offsets on Echomap 93SV built in maps. Answer: For the Dynamic Lake Level option you will have to have a LakeVu Ultra mapping card.
I may be mistaken but it it didn’t seem the Ultra map was compatible with the Echomap because of the content size. The Echomap only has one SD card slot unlike the Ultra Series units which have 2 slots. I believe I left that conversation more confused than when I started😂. Seems they are upgrading everything for the Ultra Series with the maps, transducers, etc. appreciate you sharing, I’ve been hesitant to comment on the map situation, the offset works with QuickDraw maps. Did they say you could use the ultra map card in an echomap unit? Tight lines, Rick
You know more about it than I. I questioned that feature(which I had on my cell phone Navionics App) after setting up my Echomap 93SV. Another feature not included in the echomap, but included in the Navionics App on cell phone is the ability to navigate to a waypoint on a obstacle free track without having to backtrack from the waypoint turn by turn.
Not sure if you saw the videos on waypoints and google earth earlier this year but the “home port” PC program is obsolete now. They replaced it with “base camp” which doesn’t support marine maps or sonar recordings. It looks like they are going all in on active captain for all sonar interface in the future.
I’m very irritated with the whole maps situation. For $12 a year the navionics phone app is wonderful, Garmin owns Navionics but you can’t use the maps interchangeably🤬 I got so frustrated trying to make a video that wasn’t confusing. Years back you could overlay the Garmin marine maps on google earth pro, but they took that away too. Like I said it’s pretty confusing right now. Hopefully they have a solid plan moving forward
Great info, the Garmin tech on the phone gave me the ratings, I suspected the high rating was low because of charging voltages. Love your videos!!! Hadn’t looked in awhile did you hit the 1000 subscriptions?
I put waypoints in echo map off list but on waypoint page in unit all waypoints r not in numerical orde4 how do I fix this and have them in number order
Short answer is to pull-up your waypoint in the list then push the menu button in the lower right corner. A menu will pop up giving you sort options. Here’s a video on customizing waypoint lists, sorting, change icons, etc ruclips.net/video/_g8ZTInToHg/видео.html Have a great 4th!!

Go to Home Screen then settings-display-simulator and turn it “on”. I had one unit that I had to download the latest software first. Thanks for the comment, have a great day!!!
How about a video on setting boundaries and more importantly, returning to the waypoint without getting to close to it? Let’s say you lose a fish on a lone stump, on a point in 6 feet of water and you want to go back to it the next day but you want to stay back 30 feet and cast to it. If you have Livescope you could further pinpoint the stump.
Yes, that is definitely on my list, been waiting till I can get back on the water. Nothing but wind and cold here in the Texas panhandle for a month now. I have a couple more in shop videos that the schedule will drop on Saturday mornings then hopefully “back on the water”!!! Thanks for the comment

Do you know how to find the thermocline on 93sv uhd using a gt54? Thanks Mike

Echomap units are Rated up to 18v
Gps map units are rated up to 32v
Livescope gls 10 up to 32v as well
Great info, the Garmin tech on the phone gave me the ratings, I suspected the high rating was low because of charging voltages. Love your videos!!! Hadn’t looked in awhile did you hit the 1000 subscriptions?

Can you modify what engine gauges show up?
I think there’s some customization options for the layout of Mercury gauges. I haven’t purchased the engine module

Go to Home Screen then settings-display-simulator and turn it “on”. I had one unit that I had to download the latest software first. Thanks for the comment, have a great day!!!
