It’s funny how Oliver is never serious but all of his songs have deep meanings to them. He really puts all of him into his craft. Love it.
I think the Oliver Tree act is two-fold. On the one hand you have his character he plays. This very obnoxious egotistical parody of a wannabe popstar but the actual music and songs are genuinely written from the perspective of the real Oliver Tree. That's how his music is still meaningful despite whatever crazy outfits he wears, stunts he pulls in music videos or wild characters he invents. Just my own interpretation of it anyway.

Oliver is just as good of a director as he is a songwriter. Every one of his videos has some kind of creative style to it that I love. It's weird and creative and awesome and it's a type of style I've only seen a few times before. Whenever I write some kind of story or make some kind of video project with my friends this is what I get my inspiration from.
damn. this song really hits me in some type of way. recently i fell in with a friend group i probably shouldnt have and made myself become a different person to try and fit in better. At least to me this song means you cant fit in sometimes but its for the best. yeah these folks arent the crowd i should be around and i dont fit in all that well but that way of acting made me and my gf split up. I realized what had happened and im on the way back to the person i know i am.
