I love your videos that you have produced very elegant and professional. I've looked at several recipes online on massaman Currey and your thus far seems the most authentic and delicious, Just curious if you can substitute the pork with beef chunks instead? and how much longer should I or cook the curry for meat to become tender? Thank you.
THA KING Thank you very much. Glad you like the music and scenery. We shot this in our Sichon home which is located in a palm plantation close to the beach -It’s lovely so I’m glad that feeling is coming through in the video. Texas isn’t bad either 😉
19Axel66 thank you very much. I’m pleased to hear you liked the video and think that my recipe is the best. We have family in Sweden and Massaman is their favorite too. Thanks for cooking this for your family.
Wow.. now I'm hungry.. perfect with super cold beer.. I miss some icy cold San Miguel Light.. can you also use chicken or beef? Thank you for this recipe. 😁
Ivana Kojić Hi! Thank you for watching and for requesting the paste recipe. I will make a series of paste recipe videos in the future - Likely towards the end of the year. Please consider subscribing to make sure you don’t miss out on new recipes. Have a spicy 🌶 day
Hi! Sure I can do Moo Ping. Adding it to my production schedule. Thank you very much for watching and don't forget to activate that notification bell so you won't miss when I publish a new recipe
Hello can I ask.. How would she make it if it was beef? Would she cook the beef separate to the curry and add it or cook in the curry? And how long would she cook the beef? Please I would really appreciate your opinion and advise. 😘
Layla Mariee hi! This dish works very well with beef. The process for beef is identical to pork but the cooking time will depend on the type of cut of beef that you use. For longer cooking times please add a bit more coconut milk from time to time make sure you don’t burn the curry. When the meat start to become soft and tender to the point where you can pull it apart with two forks you turn the heat off and let it rest for 30 mins before serving. Remember to not add the potatoes too early bcos they will disintegrate. Add them in the last 25 mins. Good luck!
Abraham Hsu Hi! Unfortunately you cannot substitute with milk in this case since the coconut cream and coconut milk is essential to achieving the unique taste of Massaman curry. Can you perhaps order it online? Good luck and have a spicy day
@@WorldofThaiFood thank you :) because its pretty useless if we don't know the curry paste recipe. the taste will be different if we buy the pre-made one
marvin tedjo That is simply incorrect. Thai food ingredients are always different from location to location and even from one day to the next. Lime, shrimp paste, etc. never taste exactly the same. With Thai food you always have to adjust and balance the taste based on the ingredients you use that day. Your paste made from my recipe would taste completely different than what I make because the herbs and spices are sourced from a different location. Nothing wrong with using ready made paste - we buy them freshly made in the local fresh market all the time.
@@WorldofThaiFood yes. but i live in another country, Indonesia and there is no pre-made thai curry paste in our local fresh markets. one of the way I can do is buying the factory-made in plastic sachet. but the variants of the curry is not many only 2-3 curry types. and I think it will happen in another countries too, except in Thailand.so the best way we can do is to buy the raw ingredients and make our own curry paste. by the way thanks a lot for your informations and replies. actually I really loves your food I've tried some of the dishes according to your video and recipes. its so delicious and my family likes it too. thanks once again
marvin tedjo You’re right, it’s not always easy to come by good quality factory made export paste. At least you have a great advantage living in Indonesia since you can find top quality fresh coconut milk and most of the other necessary ingredients as opposed to audience living in Europe or US. I’ll consider making a series of paste tutorials later this year. I also plan to sell my own paste in the upcoming web-shop. Thanks very much for watching and for making a case for that type of videos. Have a spicy day 🌶🌴
kris 🙏 Thanks for sticking around 😊. Freshly made paste always give the best results but bought paste can provide a good base to build on if you can find quality coconut milk and other ingredients to go with it
We have a separate video on how to make the massaman paste - the purpose of this video is not to show how to make paste but to teach the correct technique for making the curry. Different videos - different purpose.
But I hate fish taste which is a lot of Thai cooking except for few dishes. How does someone enjoy Thai food while disliking fishy flavor? Only dish I usually love is Beef (or chicken) masuman or Pad Ka prow or basil meat., both are so tasty but without fish flavor.
☺️ thanks for the comment. I understand but there are many Thai recipes that don't include fish sauce. The trick to reduce the smell of fish sauce is to make sure the sauce is added at the boiling point and then cooked thoroughly. You can try this next time 🙏
What a beautiful recipe. Thankyou to you and your mother for sharing this recipe.

Looks great. Were the potatoes already boiled before adding to the curry or was they raw? Thanks from the UK
Hi! Either works. Just remember to adjust the cooking time accordingly. In this video the potatoes were raw. Thanks for watching! 🙏

Katherine Mendes Exactly - Cold Beer and Massaman is just 🙌 You can easily supplement pork with either beef or chicken. Thank you for watching
looks good!

Hi Amy, i want to use beef instead of pork, is there any particular changes that I need to know?
Hi! Boil beef in the coconut milk first until the beef gets tender. Then you mix curry paste and seasoning afterwards. Good luck! 🙏
Thank you for this
Thanks for watching!

i think you need to give the recipe how to make the Masaman Curry Paste
marvin tedjo our past curry paste tutorial didn’t do so well so I’m not sure it’s worth the effort but I will consider it.

Skulle vara spännande att laga med svenska potatissorter, typ mandel.
FoodTaliban Bra idé. Skall prova nästa gång 🙏
It would have been better to show how to make the massaman curry paste instead of showing recipe using a ready made paste bought from the market.
We have a separate video on how to make the massaman paste - the purpose of this video is not to show how to make paste but to teach the correct technique for making the curry. Different videos - different purpose.
