Wow innocent stop it. Didn't a six year old shoot an instructor. The real issue is why do they want to watch it at that age. Maybe because they are sexually curious about their bodies because their parents don't explain anything because they are raising their kids wrong oh well 🤷

I can tell you that this is a serious problem. I'm 32, a recovering heroin addict, and was exposed to porn in grade school. I started watching regularly at 12 years old. I honestly believe that if I could change one thing from my past, it would not be heroin or other drug use, it would be porn. I think it really messed up my brain, it taught me the wrong things about sex, girls, and relationships. It desensitized me to sex. And it's really caused a lot of serious problems in my personal life. Like I said, I'm a recovering heroin addict, but I think porn was actually worse.

As a dad of 5 kids, I couldn't agree more with Dawn about how important it is to not just protect their innocence, but also to be proactive in preparing them to deal with inevitable exposure in today's world. My oldest is turning 8 in a few months, and we've found a great age-appropriate book to help facilitate conversation called Good Pictures Bad Pictures by Kristen A. Jenson.
It teaches kids to understand that our brains can get "hurt" just like our bodies, and that we have a "thinking" and a "feeling" brain. Our "feeling" brain is great at helping us stay alive, but it doesn't know right from wrong. So letting it run the show based on what it craves is a REALLY bad choice. Right now, my son thinks that means not eating ice cream for dinner, but he understands the concept. I'm praying I can subtley prepare him but also continue to guard his innocence for a long time to come.
I'd highly recommend it for any parents out there looking for a way to introduce difficult topics like this to your kids so you can teach them how to avoid getting trapped by it.

Having watched the entire podcast, I notice one striking question was not asked of Dawn, "what got you interested in perusing this crusade?"
...after fifty years on this planet, I have learned what tends to motivate who and why.
I pray that my assumption is wrong, but I am glad some people are able to harness their own terror and focus it on a positive effort.

My 5th grade older sister showed it to me when I was in 3rd grade. This was probably in 2003.
I wanted to show my buddies in school, one because it was weird and curious behavior from a 3rd graders perspective, and two because it was kind of intriguing and cool.
So I told my buddies about it and tried searching for it in the computer lab during class. They had search blockers.
I got in trouble for it, but I essentially just got a talking-to by my teacher and the assistant principal.
    Is 3rd grade early?

I'm very much against paternalism of any kind. Is there obscenity on many porn websites, yes. The real problem is with parents. If you're concerned about children using technology, then you should be talking with parents, not trying to ban a section of the Internet. No matter the content, i think banning causes more harm than good

She is a very poor spokesperson for true sexual exploitation victims. Furthermore, her views on technology are incorrect, her data and statistics are off, and quite frankly, she is speaking out of her ass on a lot of this. She simply wants to go after porn, period. She stated that starting 3:40 seconds on this cast. Are their legit major problems we need to come together and solve for in the sexual exploitation of women and children, absolutely. But she is hell bent on ending pornography--to which does require a true definition verses, "I know it when I see it." Does she honestly think that ending pornography will end child sexual exploitation and sexual abuse? Honestly, is that how this works? Much like if you make it more difficult through law for a person to obtain a firearm, that criminals won't exist?

    • @Dagothdaleet

  • @itsmatt2105

Here's the facts: porn is garbage and all it's viewers know it. It's like an MRE or a fast food burger. If you're really hungry and can't get some real food, it'll keep you from being hungry and even taste kind of good when you eat it but almost nobody would chose porn over a real, healthy relationship with a girl/woman.
True, porn is initially very exciting but that wears off in short order and the low quality of the "product" comes shining through pretty quickly.
So why do men (and women, 25% of porn subscribers are female) chose porn?
For males, I would say it's mainly not having a healthy relationship with a female. This could mean they aren't in a relationship (80% of females say they only find 20% of males attractive) or they are in a relationship but it isn't healthy. We're in a time, culturally, when women are EXTREMELY entitled and extremely few are capable of being half of a healthy relationship. 3/4 of divorces in the US are filed for by women. Not mainly because the man was abusive, not because he cheated, but because the wife says "I'm not happy!" (As though her fleeting emotional state takes precedence over the well being of all the other members of the family)
When a man is divorced by a woman, she will likely use the divorce courts to try to destroy him. She'll strip him of the majority of his assets and deny him the ability to see, let alone parent his children. He may be forced to live in his car while working 2 or 3 jobs while the ex-wife lives for decades off the child support that is only supposed to be for providing for the children's needs.
Many men are making the very reasoned, wise choice to not date or marry women and use porn instead. It's not what they want, it's what they have to do to survive the gynocentric system that's so bent on destroying them.
I can state categorically that widespread porn use is NOT the problem, it's a symptom and until women acknowledge that they have to bring something besides their entitlement to the relationship table, men will continue to choose porn over them. Imagine, you're a real, live women and you are able to contribute so little to a relationship that a man would choose a one dimensional, garbage facsimile of a women over you. That's a stunning indictment of women, not a testament to the high quality of porn or the bad judgement of men.

    • @kiritosao2661
      @kiritosao2661 6 месяцев назад +1

I agree and this has caused more problems than the porn industry has, with the resulting increase of single parent homes. Men have been marginalized and with no other outlet they turn to porn. So Dawn wants to sue porn sites. Can we sue women who consistently reject men who are not in the top 10% of the socioeconomic scale? Fix the problem, not the blame.
