Thanks for watching and please subscribe and stuff. This is a very short and simple song compared to most of my content. I'm trying to use my guitar here like a drum (dumbek/darbuka) is used in belly dance music, doing the Saidi rhythm, the "drum solo" similar to what they play for dancers, plus playing the chords and melodies. It's a completely different approach to how I play for Flamenco. Let me know your thoughts. Thank you. -Ben Woods
You did great job. I believe you could achieve wider range of rhytm sounds by tapping also on the sides of the guitar, and also using your fingernails. That way I think rhytmic patterns would sound even better. Keep doing this, and yes, belly dancer is also great!
RIP Ben, we all really miss and appreciate you and your playing. This composition is different, but nevertheless phenomenal, and compliments the dance amazingly. On a side note, this setting looks like Alabama Hills in Lone Pine, CA. Not sure if that's right, but sure does seem like it!
Great stuff. You have a gift for coming up with appealing melodies that just hook the ear, whether it is your blazing fast stuff or more intimate songs like this. I love your blazing flamenco, but this sort of composition appeals on a more emotional level rather than a technical level. I like that! As always, your music is top notch.
