Their videos are great. I recommend the one about Kris's soul. My next favorites after that one are his videos about the narrator and determination.

10:12 has nothing to do with undertale, but this is the reason i cant play horror games. Horror movies? My brain treats them as comedies and i just cant feel any fear or anxiety from them, but horror games? My brain tricks itself into thinking im not me, im not playing a game but im the character im playing, doesnt matter that im actually not Ethen winters (Resident evil 7) my brain convinces itself that i am Ethan, that im actually in this horror setting and that makes it really hard for me to play a horror game so i just watch youtubers do it. Of course this only happens with singleplayer games as with multiplayer games my brain remembers im just playing a game since there are other real people around me. This also makes it where if im playing a RPG, say Fallout 4, i feel genuinely awful when playing a Bad Guy Character but if im playing a game with a fixed bad guy character i dont feel awful. In the RPG situation my brain somewhat remembers that i try and avoid, and i say try as i am admittedly bad at it, being a Asshole so since a RPG is typically a Blank Slate i typically unconsciously try and be Nice while also stealing any loose change i can find. Its interesting. This has been my somewhat useless comment that should help boost the video.

About you flexing on your morality: Yout still watched it and by watching it, you already know what happens, therefore your main motivation is gone. If you only knew there was a different route, but had no way of watching a lets play or such, could you still resist the temptation to do it?
I did myself start a genocide run, but mainly to kill sans. As that took a while, I looked into what happens after and decided to reset AFTER beating sans. What exactly is my morality then? xD

@@Fort_Master The thing is, there really isn't really a fixpoint where everyone would say "thats morally correct" when it comes to video games, as everyone treats the differently. And especially because of let's plays you really cant argue about who is "morally right", as you cannot know if someone would have done it if he didnt know what it had to offer, or if he didnt have the ability to just look it up.

I would never have been able to put it into words, but he explained what I felt at the true reset button so well. I probably would have done a genocide run and maybe just another neutral or pacifist run of the game if Flowey hadn't come on the screen and warned me of what a true reset meant for him and the other characters. Why should I care enough about these characters enough to not want to reset the game? I have played through short games I love lots of times.
For example, I have played Pikmin 1 dozens of times. I am willing to crash Olimar on an alien planet, separating him from his wife and kids, and sacrificing hundreds of Pikmin lives to be eaten, crushed, drowned, and burned to death, all in the name of beating the game faster.
Why is Undertale any different? It's not even because the characters are incredible, but because me reseting the game is actively recognized by the game through Flowey. By resetting, you are ruining the lives of the characters and Flowey calls you out on it. They would be merely playthings to be manipulated for my enjoyment. And that didn't sit right with me, so I never played the game again.
I never realized how big of a deal it was that a story could make me feel this way until I watched this video, but it really is quite incredible.

I know what the creepy song was lol.
Ironically it was from Omori, a Psychological Horror game you should check out.
Yes, you should check it out. I do not care if you hate horror games this one is the cutest horror game ive ever seen, and I would consider it "A game that has horror" rather than "A game full of horror"
    7:55
    Oh hey there's Omori.

Congrats on being the first person to react to this video! Been waiting for a reaction to it for a while, and hopefully more people will follow
I am also one of those people who played through Undertale once and never again due to the power I allowed (and continue to allow) the game to have over me; granted, i did download someone else's genocide save that was right before the sans fight just to see if i _could_ beat him, but i can at least treat that as "taking over an alternate reality to preserve mine _and_ satisfy my curiosity" (basically to have my cake and eat it too). But I had never thought that deeply about why I had allowed Undertale to have that hold on me until I'd seen this video, and the conclusion kinda blew me away and made me appreciate Undertale even more, somehow

Edit: For the longest time Undertale was the most influential game I had ever played, and it was gonna stay that way till I started playing Fire Emblem Three Houses and fell in love with those characters

Dude, seems we have similar taste in games. Fire Emblem: Three Houses is also absolutely incredible. I love that game to death with its incredible characters, world, and morally gray themes. So much depth.

    Nice video!
By the way, if you want to watch something close to this about Deltarune, may i suggest Deltarune and the fourth wall The Device theory, currently 2 out of 3 parts, by mollystars. They are long, but
    very
    Very
    Interesting

If you're interested in watching Andrew's Deltarune theories, the ideal way to do that would be in release order.
So I hereby formally suggest "Everything About DETERMINATION in Deltarune Chapter 2".

Wow. No. You don’t *get* the privilege of “moral high ground”. If that’s the case, then what about me? I never even played Undertale myself, but I watched countless let’s plays of it. And it doesn’t make any difference at all. You’ve seen it. The act of you playing a video of them dying is equivalent to you killing them. Because their circle is equally not real no matter what form you view it through. In the end, you’re still pressing some buttons to make a genocide run play out. In one case it’s playing buttons, in other it’s the video searching buttons. But the action is still pretty much the same. And so is motivation. You wanted to see what happens, so you went ahead and saw it happen.
Our best friend Flowey *literally* addresses your type of hypocrisy in his genocide speech. He says it’s *better* to just do it yourself, rather than pretend like you’re better than that but still watch it anyway. So please, take your responsibility seriously.
