    There's a great fun video by Andrew Cunningham dissecting fandom misconceptions about Gaster's theme in deltarune. It also explains some music theiry concepts in a surprisingly digestible way, all around some of the best analysis of the game's soundtrack

    Another interesting tidbit is that the residents of Snowdin say that Sans and Papyrus just... appeared, one day. Given that the Underground is pretty much a closed system, and monsters don't really pop into existence like that, that's rather odd. Where could they have even come from?
    This leads into the fanon theory that Gaster is their father. If Gaster did shatter across time and space, and everyone's memory of his existence got retroactively removed, then it would very well seem like Sans and Papyrus just kind of appeared from nowhere. In reality they were always there, but Gaster's disappearance destroyed any context as to why. Or so goes the theory.

      There are supporting evidences that they both likely came from the world of Deltarune.

    One thing that wasnt addressed in this video that is prett important is the bunker at the South of Hometown in Deltarune.
    At the very bottom of the town, there is an overgrown bunker with chipped red paint on its doors and locks on the handle. There is a strange mechanical sound emitting from the doors, and when sped up by 666%, it's mus_smile, aka Gaster's Garbage Noise.
    And while thats already pretty major, there is also another strange detail, that being the fact that Kris is scared of and has experience with the bunker. Going there in Chapter 2 reveals Snowy and Monster Kid about to break in, and when MK protests, Snowy asks if they're gonna be scared "like Kris." This causes Susie to intimidate them and send them away before anything else happens.
    So the creepy bunker playing Gaster noises scares our main protagonist who we control because of Gaster... hmm.
    Other facts that weren't mentioned:
    You were wondering about the garbage noise being slowed down, and it actually is. Its Muffet's laugh slowed down by 666% and its creepy as hell.
    Also, for some very strange reason, if you put your name as Kris, Susie, or Noelle in Deltarune, the Vessel Creator will say
    "AN INTERESTING COINCIDENCE. YOU ARE ABOUT TO MEET SOMEONE VERY, VERY, WONDERFUL."
    The use of "VERY VERY" really makes it clear who this narrator is, (Gaster) and also that they seem to have a fondness for these three.
    And finally, some speculation. In Deltarune, there is a randomly spawning room in each Chapter, in which there is a Scarlet Forest tree in a black expanse, and an unseen man behind it. After interacting with the Man, he will offer you something (in Chapter 2 it sill say he seems happy to see you), if you accept, you get the Egg, a special item that is "Not too important, but not to unimportant." It is then noted that there "was not a man here."
    The most disturbing part about this egg is that it persists outside of the Dark Worlds, implying that the Man and his gift are real.
    Further supporting this is the fact that if you get the Egg in Chapter 1, and ONLY if you get it, one of the cars in the Light World is noted to have a man inside who smiles and waves at you. And, the Spamton Sweepstakes website has a blog post by Noelle that mentions that one of her pet simulator games glitched and gave her a black and white egg with the message "SPECIAL." It quickly "left due to happiness" and she could no longer remember its name.
    What does that have to do with Gaster besides being super weird? Well, what relation could Gaster have to Eggs? He sort of looks like one, being cracked and white with a round head. And he seems to like Kris and Noelle enough to give them a gift, but that's about all.
    Until you remember Humpty Dumpty. He had a great fall, shattered, and couldn't be put back together again. Just like Gaster.

    The author of the video misspoke for dramatic effect. The fun value is a random number between 1 and 100, so getting 66 is a 1 in 100 chance. With that chance you have a 10% probability of getting the door. Hence, a 0.01 • 0.1 = 0.001, 0.1% or 1‰ chance of encountering the Mystery Man.

    Another thing that could support your idea about S&P coming from Deltarune to Undertale is the fact that in UT when sans speaks to Frisk about going home, he says he understands. He talks about how he knows the desire to want to go home, and with the lab behind his house there’s a photo of some ppl Frisk doesn’t recognize. Sans only allows you in once you prove you can go back in time, so said photo and machine are likely related to the space and time hopping.

  • @ma.2089
    @ma.2089 7 месяцев назад +18

    Sans is a likely candidate to the “you two” thing cuz he has a machine and lab behind his house, has the weird dark room door in his house (“Is sans tricking you across time and space again?”), talks about resets with a “we” in Geno, and has books on quantum physics etc. Also tends to pull Flowey type moves by breaking the confines of the battle screen. He also uses Gaster blasters in said fight.
    Alphys is likely since she has used the determination extractor machine that seems to be similar to the blasters. However, I think it’s more likely to be Papyrus. Dude is kind of an enigma, seemingly aware of things and so spontaneous that Flowey found him the most interesting monster in the underground despite the resets.
    Sans and Papyrus seem very relevant to Deltarune too.

    • @ma.2089
      @ma.2089 7 месяцев назад +4

      Overlooked some Alphys stuff since they’re related to Sans and not so much Gaster. I personally think Sans brought Alphys into it rather than Gaster knowing Alphys specifically. Alphys feels like someone who would want to help Sans since most of her inventions seems geared towards helping specific ppl.

    if you want more undertale content without having to reset your undertale save and disrupt the characters’ happy ending, there’s a new fan game called Undertale Yellow that is free and is absolutely amazing. it’s a prequel where you play as the yellow soul human. cannot possibly recommend it enough it’s absolutely mind blowingly good and if i didn’t know it was fanmade i would genuinely assume toby made it

    The bit about you being hesitant to replay Undertale is also discussed in an Andrew Cunningham video of "What Was So Great About Undertale, Anyway? (A Mildly Deranged Retrospective)" (it's the one with "Tangled Realities" on the thumbnail).
    However, this particular video I _very strongly recommend_ watching in private on your own time. Because of the concepts it discusses, it _cannot_ be live reacted to, not without completely ruining the experience.
