This was recorded when I was unaware my c: drive was in beging to die, so as a result the recording is a bit messed up in places. I tried my best to fix it, but thankfully the problem is fixed now!
I’m pretty sure Deltarune was planned way back in 2016. If you go to the deltarune website on the wayback machine there’s an archived page in 2016 and 2017. Which has wingdings text talking about Ralsei’s legend. Now i’m pretty sure those pages were archived by Toby himself, since why/how would anyone think to look up Deltarune as a website? And if they did, i think they would tell the community about it, which would result in more archived pages at that time. But there’s only one, which just makes me think Toby did it himself for the community to find later when Deltarune eventually releases as a demo
@@Fort_Master Toby actually had the idea for Deltarune in 2012 after a fever dream, where he saw the ending to a game. He tried making the game for that ending, but it didn't work out. When he made Undertale in 2013-15 he reused some stuff and concepts for it. Toriel's battle theme Heartache used to be Jevil's theme, for example. In the Kickstarter for the game he teased a sequel, "the nature of which is shrouded in darkness". The Deltarune we then got in 2018 was a combination of his original concept and Undertale.
For what i understand, the concept for Deltarune exist since before Undertale as the original idea he wanted to make a game out of, but ended up deciding to start whit something small which ended up being Udertale
And I can see what he means by that, just 2 chapter have more content than Undertale, and we didn't even get to the serious parts that were one of the reasons undertale was so loved
I suggested it a while ago before, but how about you react to some HalfBreadChaos theories? They are some of my favorites! Particularly the ones about the nightmare in our hearts and the closet dark world.
ok but the egg placement is... weird... you put one in Asgore's fridge, and then you put one in Sans' store... i will refrain from thinking this is anything else than a funny coincidence, BUT IF THE NEXT EGG IS PLACED EVEN SLIGHTLY NEAR METTATON i will still think of it as just a funny coincidence.
Halfbreadchaos videos are good, they rarely will give concise answers when it comes to theorys as they seem to be made around the evidence instead of around an idea he want's to be true, so you will most likely leave whit more questions, but they are a great time to watch trough, the one i remember more vivedly is the one abaut how many chapters Will Deltarune have. 20:43 it culd also be a reference/joke to the fact that the first time they were shown before Undertale release they were standing on a patch of grass 8:45 well, Gaster did said on Twitter that he had a very interesting experiment to show ys right before posting the original download link to Deltarune. 0:19 "a few month agonback in twenty thirteen" 😂
I would hella suggest watching Mollystars The Device theory since you brought up the idea of Gaster trying to connect us (the player) to Deltarune. The theory is a 3 parter with 2 parts out rn and they're kinda long videos but they're so interesting and weird. Deltarune has so many things that it keeps track of that aren't even apart of the narrative or gameplay and the theory delves very deep into it.
If you can believe it Deltarune might've been convinced as far back as 2012. The story goes that Toby Fox had a fever dream that featured an ending of a game. Ever since then he wanted to make that game. However for a few reasons Toby decided to make a different game, eventually making Undertale.
8:52 there is actually proof of this! Or at least some evidence pointing to that. Firstly, when Gaster took over the Undertale Twitter account, it was to release Deltarune Chapter 1 (and then proceeded to do the same for Chapter 2). Gaster made the Goner Maker part of the game as a survey (which is why Deltarune Chapter 1's exe file was named SURVEY_PROGRAM). Finally, the Chapter 1/SURVEY_PROGRAM release of Deltarune in its properties has a version number of 0.6.6.6. So at least the start of the game where you make a vessel was made by Gaster in universe.
Will say if you want more good Deltarune theory content. Check out SwankyBox, he makes awesome Deltarune content. I flat out love his Jevil and Spamton videos. Plus he tries to predict future events.
Theres some old stuff from toby that isnt well known and i dont recall any exact sources so take my vague info with a grain of salt Toby fox mentioned that in 2011 he had a dream about an ending to a game. He wanted to make that game. But hadnt made a game before (besides the Halloween hack?) but the basic concept existed Anyway he tried stopped and didnt do much until he began working in Undertale this is where another toby comment comes in where i believe he said "if undertale is successful ill make a game with a mix of that old concept and Undertale" So its possible deltarune has existed in concept... Since 2011
Howdy. I'm new and I've been enjoying your content for quite a while now . The reactions are really great . I also have a recommendation : "Why is smile Gaster's motif ?" By HalfBreadChaos

Can't wait to open the bunker in chapter 7 alongside the IRS to get Gaster for his tax fraud.
Hey, there's a reason why even the Joker wouldn't go against them!

Wow really? So this really has been in development for a while.

@tadeolaguarda6965 "something small" creates one of the biggest game of game history:

Oh man, what a wild story in this game. The whole concept was pretty interesting, for sure. Well played.
The whole concept of Gaster is nuts!

Pretty sure that theory about Sans and Papyrus being fragments of gaster was also game theory
I think the bunker garbage noice and entry 17 might be Gasters phone while he is calling the secret bosses
Misty Sparkles actually made a part 2 of this video with some of the things they missed
This is the part 2
