AND SO IT BEGINS - New MM1 cover with playthrough every week - one level per week. Same thing as MM3 Cover Playthrough in that it's VRC6 with stereo.
"But wait," you might say, "Mega Man didn't have any title screen music!" You're right, which is why this is the gameboy version.
You did a good job on this, but why on earth did you use Rockman World's theme instead of Powered Up's theme? Not only is the Powered Up theme more modern and dedicated to Megaman 1, I think it's the better composition. Hearing a VRC6 version of that would have been awesome. Even in VRC6, this still has that tinny quality of the first two GameBoy Megaman games.
That's very immature. Powered Up did go with a deliberate chibi style and the music reflected that too, but that doesn't make it "gay". In fact, Megaman Powered Up is easily one of the best Megaman games ever made, overflowing with content such as being able to play as the bosses, Protoman, or even Roll. Plus there's that incredible level editor.
It's a shame it didn't sell better, as one could only imagine if Megaman 2 was remade like that. Pure bliss.
Satoshi Matrix this is why it should have gotton released on the wii, ps3, and xbox 360
Heck, maybe the DS would’ve been perfect for it
I've always completely loved the gameboy MM1 title theme -- and its other unique tracks (and in fact that goes for the whole gameboy series) very, very much. I think this theme is infinitely superior to the Powered Up title theme, personally -- not that I specifically dislike the Powered Up score or anything, but still.
To each their own.
I'm still not sure what your issue is. Is it because it wasn't covered in a style of your liking or did you want rushjet1 to stand in place for X amount of seconds/minutes while you got your fill of music in? If it is the former then I guess that is your call but if its the latter then you should probably just get the album.
I'm pretty sure Dr Wily stage 3/4 was covered not once but twice and also interwoven into the boss rush as well. I think you may be mistaking the track you referencing. You sure you dont mean Wily stage 5 where gamma is actually played for all of 20 seconds in a normal MM3 playthrough?
I honestly wasn't that huge a fan of either of the PSP titles. It just felt a little Megaman 7-ish in that megaman takes up a slightly larger portion of the' screen than in other games.
And the gay and cutesie remark was a collective stab at the SD style of the game.
A little disapointed, but if we get a different version of the wily boss theme for the last boss and a decent wily stage 1, all will be well :3.
Oh, man, not another one.
Can't wait for my favorite song to get butchered!
I was bothered by his MM3 coverings because of a failure to pay tribute to the MM3DW3 theme (Instead turning it into a Gamma Boss Battle theme), which is my favorite song in all of MM3. It is absolutely mind-boggling to me that he would cover the standard boss battle in at least 4 different ways and even a Game Boy song before taking into account the sort of song that the "Gamma Battle" was supposed to be.
That and Shadow Doc put me to sleep.
Can we expect Oilman and Timeman in this?
mmmm finally
Wait, are you being facetious, or what?
This is just a wild guess:
Yes.
Much respect, this theme is way under-appreciated(it's been forever hearing it anywhere). Great job like always, always have been and always will be a huge fan!
Oh shit, color me interested.
Oh my god yessssss
Turricanised?
Oh HELL yes
Good Stuff
Wow! I'm really shocked to hear that, considering you seem to be such a big Megaman fan. That explains it then. Megaman Powered Up has a new theme song that fits into the playful style of the original game really well. The song can best be heard in the level editor, but if you've never played it that explains why you didn't use it. I think if you tried it, you'd come to love it.
yes

yes
That is exactly the song I mean. Sorry, should have been more specific. I get so used to my own weird shorthand that I assume everyone knows what I'm talking about.
But yes. I mean that song. It's my favorite song in the whole darned OST and I'm sad it wasn't covered in its original state.
Where can you find the NSF? That doesn't seem to be a download option on bandcamp.
It's included in the main download.
I did mean the former; I actually heard the album long before seeing his playthrough of the game with his music. Sorry; I'm very bad at being specific, apparently.
Mega Man Powered Up was really gay and cutesie and the music wasn't much to shake a stick at
