  • Today I installed the shift kit sold from transgo in the Turbo 5.7 Dodge Charger. If you are wondering what is involved in the replacement, then this may help you out!

And what issues would one run into to want to use this transGo kit ..? What insures would they have or see during normal driving … slips , slow shifts etc? This comment is for normal ppl that wouldn’t really no or how to ask us mechanics so there you go

TransGo addresses a few different known transmission issues with the nag1. They claim to Correct, Prevent, and Reduce issues with 2-3 shift flareup, insufficient line pressure rise, Torque converter slip or shudder, DTCs 053, p0740, p0741, soft shifts and shudder on hard acceleration. I installed the kit as preventative measures and to address some of the valve bodies current flaws and weak points. Some of the parts that were replaced, especially the overlap regulator valve bushings, were pretty worn. So, as long as everything is installed and torqued properly, this should be helpful to nag1 owners, especially if they plan to keep the car and would like to keep it in good shape. Also a good tip for the people is to change their transmission fluids as well. The fluid in this video is pretty clean for what it is. The darker or blacker the fluid is, the more degraded it is and it will not be able to protect the components, so keep the fluids in check! Anyway as always I appreciate your comments bro. Take care 💯💯🤝

Was it a noticeable improvement in shift response?

Usually, this kit will only make a difference if your valve body components are experiencing wear or an issue. If there are no issues, it’s still considered an upgrade due to the changes that are supposed to prevent known failures from occurring to begin with. The major changes to the trans would occur in the tune and upgrading to blue cap solenoids. My trans is slightly tuned so it’s a bit different from stock, but not because of this kit 💯💯🤝 if you look into the details on the TransGo website it does go slightly more in depth to describe exactly what does what. Anyway thanks for the comment bro!! So far it’s been shifting great. 💯💯🤝

I do, I will get some more driving time on it, but everything seems to be working good so far.
