Hey all, I'm just now seeing the requests for me to elaborate on my previous comment. I work as a session musician and producer and have definitely had a few wtf moments. Part of working with artists is being able to finesse major criticism, and I always strive to be honest when possible because people need to know their limitations. However, there have been a few times where I just didn't have the heart to tell an artist the truth and simply kept my mouth shut and finished their project or gig, mostly because I'm getting paid and they don't always heed my advice. The most common wtf encounters are people who write good songs but can't sing them well and won't have another artist record it. Sometimes you deal with some truly tone-deaf people and you spend hours pitch correcting their vocals. A lot of artists have this issue where their songs are edited so heavily in post that they couldn't possibly create a live experience where they sounded as good (Train is definitely one band that comes to mind). At the end of the day, I just focus on doing my best work, hahaha.
btw, side note, these are front handsprings, not cartwheels. they require a lot more skill than cartwheels, and the fact that she's doing them with one hand is incredibly impressive
