How lovely. I just looooove the Nepali people from North Bengal & Sikkim. There are of course many people with issues too. I spent almost 2.5 months traveling around these hills from May to July recently, and stayed in homestays with families (Gurung, Sherpa, Limboo, Tamang, Rai), eating their home food & same food as shown. People are simple, honest, clean, warm & hospitable and just lovely. I am a Bengali from Mumbai, but I prefer the people there (Nepalis, Bhutias, Lepchas, Limboos, other communities) than majority of Bengalis, and I also feel that they should have their own state, as their culture, land, language, everything is so different from Bengalis. PS - i love the timboor tomato chutney with dalle with momos.
The tribal community that Prabhakar sir was talking about is our Magar Community. Thank you Anubhav Ji for showcasing such beautiful amalgamation of different aspects of Darjeeling.
Magar here too, very informative choila I thought was newari, I haven't seen so calm and patient Magar scholar camera friendly. U r inspiration to us prabhakar sir.
Don't want this to end..this is pure love of food and culture...please convey my best wishes to editor too..he maintains a simple and authentic rhythm to the scenes
Pravakar sir is doing an amazing work towards preserving the ethnicity and true culture of the Nepali people in and around Darjeeling, Kurseong.. Timboor ko achaar with boiled potatoes, bhuteko makkai, sisnu, dhedo used to be the food of people before 20-30 years.Nowadays the young generation of these regions are forgetting their traditional food and culture ..Thank You Pravakar sir for doing something to preserve our culture and Thanks to Mr. Sapra for showing this in your channel..Lots of love from a common person of Darjeeling who loves her tradition, culture, food..
Dear Sir Anubhav, I have finished recently your series from North Bengal and earlier Sikkim, I have to say that this is probably my favourite corner of India currently. There's so much to explore there, beautiful landscapes and diverse mix of cultures, and my favourite tea comes from there. Thank you for these videos, it's a pleasure to explore India with you! Now onto the next playlist...
This is a beautiful experience!! Preserving a culture is important, else the concept of unpeopling has been a concept which has been practiced since centuries and people start accepting what is imposed on them. Cheers to all who welcome and accept their culture!! North Bengal series is now one of your top 10 blog series for me!!
Like all good things, this series too had to come to an end sometime. Thanks for your visit and for the story of wonderful people and their delectable cuisine. Please do come again. 🙏

Congratulations Anubhav your videos are improving a lot. The colour lighting background music and narration. It's also nice to see that you allow the other person from the place you are visiting to speak and tell you about the habit and habitat of that particular place . The entire North Bengal tour was a very pleasant experience and I feel nostalgic seeing all those places which I visited long ago
Very true... its the charm of a place that makes a delicacy more enjoyable... be it the aloo dum poori, the beaten coffee (i know... we wud beat the coffee n sugar, till the friction wud melt away the sugar, n then pour steamed frothy milk), the banana pancake in combination wth honey... Beautiful scenic views all throughout... specially the twilight on way to 'Timboor'... other than the food, it was the various topics discussed, which gave a deeper insight into the local culture... Not just this episode, but the entire series was a wonderful experience... Cheers..

Anywhere in North East, it’s best to travel after monsoon, basically after mid Sept. This year the rain pattern has changed, so just check before visiting.
Hi, the inhabitants of Kurseong. This is Prof. Bandana Banerjee Ray from Kolkata, an Educationist. Want to relocate to Kurseong, Kalingpong or Darjeeling. Could anyone guide me whom should i contact to discuss elaborately? Preferably from Kurseong as i was there for couple of months when i was working with St. Helens Secondary school. Local people of Kurseong are very helpful.
