    Thank you for covering the theoretical parts of the criterion. This reminds me how important the pre-processing is to deal with the accurate results.

    I assume this mesh quality is about 2D shell elements. 28:58 You mentioned that Tria elements are stiffer than Quard ones. What about 3D terta element? Do we need to avoid these tetra elements? Sometimes, I can say many times, complex geometry objects cannot be meshed with quad elements in 3D solid analysys.

    • @arsitech-ltd
      @arsitech-ltd  4 года назад

      Dear,
      3D element qualities are mostly same as 2D element quality.. warpage, jacobian, aspect ratio, skew, minimum size etc. For 3D elements these properties need to be calculate on every face. If one face is fail due to any property it means whole 3D element is failed.
      Apart from these properties 3D element have few more..like volume skew, volume AR, tet collapse.
      Tetra elements not recommended until model is not much complex. Bcz
      1. Stiffer behaviour than hexa
      2. For same amount of volume/component more number of tetra elements required than hexa...that increase number of node and elements in system. Hence computational time increase.
      For complex models it always recommended to use second orde tetra to improve analysis accuracy, but computational time also increases dramatically.

      @@arsitech-ltdThank you very much for the further explanation. I will look and study about 2nd order tetra more.

    sir,I am little bit confused that for 5188000 increments 1 sec is needed but for only 1000 increment 1.44 hr is needed. How these two time is differently run. How increase one time decrease the other computational time

    • @arsitech-ltd
      @arsitech-ltd  2 года назад

      Dear,
      Number of increment taken by Abaqus explicit also depends on total number of elements.
      Lets assume -
      You have only 100 element in model...so Abaqus explicit able to complete 10,000 number of increment in 10 sec.
      But on other hand if your model having 1000 element Abaqus Explicit able to complete only 1000 increment in 10 sec.
      In your case if only 1000 increment taken by Abaqus explicit in 1.44 hr... I'm sure you have lots of elements in your model...in lakhs.

    • @arsitech-ltd
      @arsitech-ltd  4 года назад +1

      Local to global..not global to local.
      To assemble individual element's stiffness matrix into a single stiffness matrix.

      @@arsitech-ltd I have been referring a book by Nitin Gokhale, 'Practical finite element analysis, it's on page number 100. Elements get transferred from global coordinate system to Local coordinate system(centroid). For faster calculations

    • @arsitech-ltd
      @arsitech-ltd  4 года назад

      Yes,
      Its true. All element level calculation (shape function) made with local coordinate system but to solve problem we need global stiffness/mass/damping of system..so they transfer to global coordinate system during solution procedure...and jacobian issue may arise.

      Dear,
      Its completely dependents on size of object and what minimum element size you allowed.
      Surly your simulation will run. But how small the feature is which you want to capture is matter.
