is it possible to have linear element and quadratic element (having higher number of nodes) combination in a model or for a single surface mesh? Case 1: Like I cover majority of region with regular meshing and just the corner which I cannot cover, with shape function & I use sewing operation (with RBE3) for combine together. Case 2: I have two different part and one I have used regular mesh and second with P refinement (Shape function) and connect it with Rigid elements.
Sir 1 doubt. In my company when we convert mesh into second order, many times elements gets distorted and shows error. So what we do is, we first export 1st order mesh. So its geometry surface removed. Then we covert elements into second order. It means mid nodes comes between the element but it remains straight as first order. Is this approach correct?
Hello Sir, I have one doubt. You said the element cannot bent within itself (linear case), but in the second (quadratic case), the intermediate node is creating a bend, thus warpage I guess ?
Dear, In 2nd case there is intermediate nodes on element edge. These node can be project on geometry & element can be bent without warpage issue. Make sure, all mid nodes are project on edge (here along the fillet axis). If only one node change its position than warpage will occur. I suggest to go with element quality check video - ruclips.net/video/Vg_iDSXdP_k/видео.html Appreciate your question.
I really had no idea shape function was this concept during my 6th semester
This is so much interesting when it is better explained
Thank you so much
Thanks, Sir, the way you explained each and every point with the help of expected results very helpful. I really appreciate your efforts.
Always welcome dear.
Great video! Thank you!

Yes it is possible by connectors.
But connectors must be use far from region of interest.

very helpful bro...
Dear,
I suggest to go with Abaqus playlist videos. All are conceptual videos only.
Implicit explicit
Linear nonlinear
Hourglass
Element quality
Etc..
Thank u sir...
Nice video
