Hey Megan, I really appreciate the videos of your journey through your surgeries. They have really given me a personal/emotional first person view on what I'll be experiencing, My SEEG surgery is July 19th. I've been so ready for mine, excited even, but it's definitely a bit scary. But hey, you said you would definitely go through all three of the surgeries again if you had the choice, so I'm still on the right track then right! I'm wondering how you're feeling now? How have your seizures been? How's the device working? Are they weening you off meds? I'm sure I could come up with so many questions, and I know every person's epilepsy is different, but it's nice to talk to someone who's gone through the same things you are going through. I saw someone asked if they could reach out to you, and you said through Instagram. I don't have one of those, so I'm wondering if there's another way. Well my name is Lauren, I want to start documenting how I feel on RUclips for myself and for others, so hopefully I'll help someone just like you helped me. Thank you

You can email me at meganfordtough@gmail.com if you need to. A year and some change later, I still have have seizures daily, but not that I can feel. The device has lessened how often I have the seizures I can feel...but I dunno. My epilepsy was a result of Autoimmune Encephalitis and though they say the disease process has burnt out, I have flare ups of seizures I can feel (20 or more a day) and pain about every 2 months. Meds are still the same. They say my case is weird. It has helped some, but some days it's like I am back at the beginning. But luckily as jacked up as my situation is, I have complex/insular epilepsy and stay conscious so I can still drive and live a deceivingly regular life. I hope the best for you and your surgery and that it fixes all that it can.
