Just started learning, this definitely looks a lot better than plain old cs. Not terribly difficult. Being left handed though everything just feels upside down and backwards all the time

I wish I could demonstrate left-handed. I am very much right-handed though and have struggled when I try left-handed. Hopefully you can find a You Tuber that has left handed tutorials! Best of luck!

Left handed here too!! If it helps you could add "Flip it" to your browser to help flip it back wards to make it look left handed XD / One day I might make left handed videos, but if you want, I do go live on twitch and lots of fiber artists are on there who love to help out and what not :p I can post my name later if thats something you find interesting too. ( not a pro but been at it a few years now ehehe

If a pattern calls for chain in multiples of 3 +2, is it necessary to do the +2 if you use the chainless foundation ? If pattern calls for 74 chains, do you also count 74 chainless foundation?

Multiples of 3+2 is a little different than a set chain number. It depends on how your pattern reads. If the pattern says multiples of 3+2 and let's say you chain 8, if the first row is where you get right into your stitch you can FSC the same number (8 in this example). If it says multiples of 3+2 and then the first row is SC before getting into your stitch, then you would subtract 1 stitch if you use a FSC start. I hope that makes sense. In your other part of the question, if your pattern says to chain 74, it depends on what the next row is. If the next row is a row of SC, or a row where you are going into the 2nd (or 3rd or 4th chain from the hook), you would subtract the number of chains you skip over to go into that chain (if you go into the 2nd chain from the hook, you would subtract 1 if you use a FSC start - so 73. If you go into the 3rd chain from the hook you would subtract 2 if using a FSC start - so 72). I hope this makes sense! :)
