Can you do a version of the yo, sl with a single crochet?
Very new to crochet. How can I find a list of stitches from easiest to hardest. I know single and double crochet. I also know the standing double crochet. My ultimate goal is to market my product. Suggestions would be helpful.
@@tracywutzke7470 I’m not 100% sure about a list of that in order. I’ll have to look. I do have a playlist on my channel with a lot of stitch tutorials there.
@ I saw that and really like your tutorials. They are very informative, easy to watch and follow. If there is not a list I could basically start at any point as you have exceptional tutoring.
@ I will work on one and as soon as I have it I’ll let you know!
I tried this and it came out so cute i used a thicker yarn which made it faster and i didn't even have to do the 3rd round
I bet it is super cute with a bulkier yarn! :)
when you turn is is the back loop always the loop in the back? Or is the back loop the same tooo cuz when you turn it it becomes the front loop
@@sarahlush1010 the back loop is always the loop that is farthest away from you as a crocheter. It switches every row after you turn.
Love that cross over stitch. Looking forward to trying it. 😊
@@JayBeenie1 I’m glad you liked it!!! 🙂
I really love this stitch! You are a great teacher!
@@susananderson3478 awe! Thank you!
Thank you for a great demonstration!
@@CynthiaKingCrochet you’re welcome!
I loved this toot. Was wondering about the tension as I crochet very tight? You are a super teacher and I can’t wait for more ❤
I am glad you liked it! If you feel like you crochet really tightly, you could go up a hook size and see if that helps. This stitch in itself isn't super tight, so it wold be a good one for you.
You made it much clearer than I've seen it before and I really like how you ended the piece! Can't wait till my next project!
@@handful65 I’m so glad you liked it!!! 🙂

@@debbemabery1454 thank you so much!!!😊
ETA; Figured it out in round 2 ty 😁 Confused because if it's explicitly mentioned I missed it twice. Round 1: Does the 15DC count the chain2 at the start or not? So a TOTAL of 15 stitches round 1? Or a TOTAL of 16 stitches round 1? Tyvm ❤VERY pretty square
@@ThunderStruck15 yes, sorry I should have said that. The chain 2 counts as a stitch, so the count for the round is 16! I will add that to the description! Thanks for pointing that out!
💖💖👍👍🙏🙏👍👍💖💖
@@patshipp9195 thank you!!
Thank you so much for a wonderful detailed tutorial. I have always struggled with bendy chains especially on blankets etc and have watched other tutorials on FD crochet. Yours is by far the best! I love your description along with the visuals you show us. Using chunky yarn really does help with this. Looking forward to watching your other videos. Blessings x
Aww! Thank you so much!!! :)

@@maithaalamimi134 that’s an awesome idea!!!
I've watched tons of these videos tutorials. When you described the foundation stitch as a 3 step stitch, it finally clicked what were trying to do here. Now I can think of it like a little yarn waltz & not get lost. Thank you so much for sharing

HAVE you ever done the linked stitch?
@@WindyGardener I haven’t yet!
I’ve made of lot of these, and it is a wonderful tutorial, thank you for making it. However, I have NEVER been able to make it without dc 16 into the magic circle. I am not sure if it was a typo, but I wanted to say this to help anyone who is also having struggles. Have a great day, viewers!
@@HellYes000 thank you for catching that! The chain 2 counts as a DC, but I failed to mention that when I made the video! Thanks for mentioning it!! 🙂
Excellent tutorial. You are a great teacher and camera work very detailed. My question. If I were to make a headband, how would i join the two ends together to fit my head size.
@@fionapereira5938 thank you! I just actually made a video about joining this stitch in the round. You can look at my channel and it’s the most recent video on there, or here is the link to the video: ruclips.net/video/S9eypTVD2-c/видео.htmlsi=QShKbWYzVZC9eeOJ

Can you start with a chainless single crochet?
@@kristinclark4767 yep! When you work the 1st actual row of Thermal SCs you would just pick up one loop from the bottom of the FSC.
Thank you for this, it’s very clear & helpful. I’d love it if you did a video with this stitch in the round producing a circle, ie, showing how to increase. I’m struggling with a project, making a small rug, & I’m not sure if I’m doing it correctly.
@@meganm1074 I’ll have to play around with it and see what I can come up with!

@@tracycarver6425 aww! Thank you!
like it, and it's good for it's purpose, but i've decided to start knitting again, as it uses less yarn. yarn manufacturers are really pushing crochet for bigger profit, but it's time to tighten the purse straps, knitted or crocheted.😘thanks for the tutorial, very well explained. for sure i'll try it with my leftovers! you got any cool knitting tricks and tutorials?
@@christinec.2376 I don’t have any knit tutorials. Maybe sometime down the road!

@@towadiwayajameson7487 I love this stitch too! I don’t have a big project yet. I am currently working on a couple of things.
I tried a couple of other videos and couldn't understand the directions. Yours were so easy and I like how you discussed other options for using combinations of sc and slip stitch together. Thanks

Love your instructions but still not able to do it. I have Parkinsons and not able to hold the yarn properly. Is there anything else I could do in place of the magic circle?
@@wendyturner8796 yep, you could chain 4 and then join with a slip stitch to the first chain to create a circle. Then you would work your 1st round of stitches into that circle.

so is the space u go into, for each staff of foundation chain made by the 1 loop that u pull back thru b4 y o. & pulling thru all 3?
@@neldamurray4357 if you’re talking about creating just the FHDC, yes the foundation part is created by that first loop created when you YO pull pack through the stitch. @hopecornerfarmcrochet thank u thank u.... I honestly think I picked the absolute most difficult yarn to work with for my projects! it so hard to see the stitches! but it's all pretty & it feels like heaven! ôôoh but I hate it! lol
@ yarn choice does make a difference when you’re learning a new stitch! I love yarn that feels awesome though too!! Happy crocheting!🧶
Loved the video. How would you do the final row?
@@kristinakeane7110 I would finish it with a row of single crochet stitches. To do this I would insert the hook without yarning over, picking up both of the loops from the previous row’s stitch (not just the back loop only), as well as its parallel partner. I would have a total of 4 loops on my hook at this point. Then I would YO and pull through 3 of the loops on the hook. YO again and pull through the last 2 loops to complete it. Repeat across the row. I show this finish in my Double Crochet Thermal Stitch video as well. You can check it out here: ruclips.net/video/SKJFUs9Fiik/видео.htmlsi=MeyuY6_YYTWS2cUx
I'm a 75-yr old crochet newbie, and I figured out that I was having some tension issues. I watched a different video about tension, but yours is more detailed and helpful. What a difference in tip number 5 has made. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.

When I worked my test piece, I found that working the slip stitch worked best for me in finishing it off. Doesn't add extra height either. I have made so many items with the SC thermal it isn't even funny (loads of hot pads, scarves, placemats, and even an afghan for my father who is 6' tall - I'm 4'11 so there's that lol and I did it all in SC thermal) ...
