    Using the thicker yarn is so much easier to see what you’re doing. I love this chain less method, I’m never going back 😊❤

    Thank you so much! I’ve been trying to learn this stitch for a while now, but in other tutorials, I never understood where the previous stitch’s hole was. Turns out, I was turning the yarn the wrong way. Watching you with this type of yarn made the stitches more visible.

    Thank you so much for your great tutorial. At last I know how to do this properly, whereas other videos left me still confused. Your interpretation of the process was very clear, easy to understand and paid attention to detail, delivering a perfect tutorial. The use of thick yarn was so effective and enabled a visual understanding and well as verbal - why does everyone not do this - it's a game changer!!!!

    Ahh this was so clear! Just using “chain” within your explanation really helped me to understand the structure better and be sure I was inserting my hook correctly. Thank you!

    Much clearer demo than other videos. Agree that thicker yarn and slower pace make a big difference. I am left handed and would really appreciate this demonstrated for lefties. Thanks for your work and patience.

      I'm wondering what the best way is to start a second row after finishing the foundation single crochet row? Thanks for all you do!! 😻

    • @Yarndrasil
      @Yarndrasil  2 года назад +1

      You’d want to: chain 1, turn, and then single crochet into each stitch. The chain one for single crochet never counts as a stitch. I hope this helps!! ☺️

      @@Yarndrasil Thank you! That’s what I thought but I wanted to make sure. If the second row is half double crochet or double crochet I imagine the chains at the end would depend on the size of the stitch.

    Wow thank you! I watched a couple vids and was still very confused but I now feel confident making this stitch in under 7 min! Your pacing and visuals are impeccable! I was able to watch along for the first two, then could listen your easy to understand instructions; I even had 9 stitches when you did. Instant sub, thank you!

    Thank you for your clear description and demo. Over the years I've tried several versions of written instructions and just tonight you are my 3rd video, but the first one with yarn big enough to see with very clear instructions.
    My question is about the curling. I think it's most likely a tension issue. One video suggested pulling the first "yarn over, pull thru" a little higher t make the loop larger before continuing, to counteract the curling. I get it, but I don't always get it pulled long enough, I guess and the curling will start again a couple of stiches along and then I have to back-up and try again. Will that curl work itself out if I continue with my pattern, or do I really have to back up and redo every 5 or 6 stiches? I want to crochet a version of Feather and Fan, if that makes a difference how that curling effects things. I'm disappointed how the base chain looks at the start of the pattern, way too lose and looks like the things I tried making when I was nine and didn't understand what I was supposed to be doing. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! 🙂

    I am totally blind and was following your verbal instructions. But when I got to the chain one I was confused did you go back into that chain and do the single crochet or do you make the single crochet after you do the chain? I’m a little lost. Thank you for your advice.

    • @Yarndrasil

      You make the single crochet after the chain 1. Hope this helps!

    Okay - great video...but, I'm ready to do the Next row of of double crochet ....pattern says ch 3 (counts as 1st dc) and turn, 1 dc in each st across. Are the bigger v's the ones I will dc in, or the smaller ones - in other words which stitches should be going across the bottom of the row. Thank you! Julie

    question: is it possible to make multiple rows?

    • @Yarndrasil
      @Yarndrasil  3 года назад +1

      Thank you so much! 💗 And yes, absolutely! All you’d do after working the foundation single crochet is turn your work, work up the chain called for by the pattern (or stitch) and carry on working into the top of the single crochet as usual.

    Can you use this method with all the basic stitches eg half treble?

    • @lavigne777619
      @lavigne777619 28 дней назад +1

      I just gave it a shot and yes, it seems like it’s possible, but it can be kind of confusing. You would start your regular half treble as normal, but after going under the first chain and then pulling out the loop, you’re only gonna pull through that first loop like in the video, and then you do the half treble as usual. The confusing part comes when you are reinserting the crochet hook into the next chain. You really have to keep an eye on which chains make up the base layer and which are part of the half treble
