Well, here we are in 2020 and Guy never won at the TT. I own a ridiculous amount of road racing dvd's and the amount of races that Guy has won, year after year at these other courses like NW200 and UGP is astounding. It is easy to think he is not as invested as other riders until you see his race record. Very impressive. I am glad he walked away when it suited him as he clearly has enough to keep busy without the roads. John would also be fine if he never raced again in my opinion. He has worked hard, squirreled a few dollars away and could run a team or anything he chose to. I really believe Dunlop, Hickman & Harrison are the new breed of racers, and sometimes you have to accept there are others who will risk more than you.
How awesome is this?!?! 2 incredible top blokes.... Massive respect for each other... two really nice characters... can't wait to see them racing each other again...:) and of course guy will finally make it this year
Two great icons of the sport; two different personalities; it's heart warming to know they have this mutual respect for each other. But, yeah, like both blokes admit, they can't let their guard down as long as they're both competing in the same race - it's what the sport is about. I still wish Guy wins this year, though.
