That was a great match but... Let's finish it with the raw truth: What's Ryu's ultimate problem? Well, his ultimate problem is this. Major lack of High, Mid and Low variations. The vast majority of his special normals (e.g. Short uppercut, hashogeki, jumping forward kick, sternum punch, Axe kick, Overhead, target combo, tatsumaki, and the backward roundahouse kick), unlike all other S, A and even B tier characters (especially Ken, Ed, Cammy, Akuma, Bison, Blanka, Rashid, etc) all can be defended by ONE execution, standing block. That's it. That's Ryu ultimate problem which gives him so much issues and the very reason why he classed as a 1-dimensional character. This is why when you look at everything Kusanagi and every other Ryu player do, they all focus on footsies and hashogeki pressure because there isn't anything else. This is why when people said, "Ryu didn't won, Kusuzagi won", it's because we are only saw the raw basics of gameplay winning against the opponent, which can only be achieved by the players deep knowing the game mechanics and frames. It's the other reason why pro players say that on paper, Ryu doesn't stand a chance and the majority of his matches are negative and with only a few as neutral. Frankly, I'm surprised Capcom massively oversighted this (if they did...). One block covering practically everything Ryu can dish out is ridiculous. If Ryu truly need to be reworked/prep for Super SF6, his special normals should be the first area Capcom should look at otherwise he'll be relatively be the same.
How should they change them? We see as in SF4 that you can do a lot of damage with Ryu. I think it depends on the mechanics of each game and how hard he can use them to his advantage. Clearly, V Trigger in 5 was not among his advantages.
Incredible match
la liga pro de Europa , saludo ...
