Especially so when Ryu hardly broke the Top 70 of any major tournament since launch! So it was basically a non appearance due to being ranked far too low and/or not qualifying to now a major victory. This great stuff!
Take a note that Kusanagi committed to use RYU all the way from the beginning until the end. He fought many characters which usually ends bad for Ryu, like: JP, AKI, Rashid, Dee Jay, Zangief, Chun Li, and of course Xiaohai's Cammy. He won very convincingly most of the times. Props to him, this is pure SKILL, not luck.
It's bonkers how Capcom doesn't seem to care about it despite nearly everyone agreeing that they want throw loop out. Personally, I understand why it's there so the answer to it is to simply restrict it to 2 throws maximum. How does that work? The first throw will be loopable but the 2nd throw will cause the executor to throw the victim much further which will break the throw loop chain. That's it. That's all Capcom need to do.
@@arrhythmiticd8089 Naw, he didn't saved you 20 mins. It's all about HOW he won and what transpired that made the match so great. You should go watch it.
Without a doubt, Kusunagi won this tournament, not Ryu. Crossing fingers for Capcom to improve Ryu still for the entire battle/s really showcase that Ryu still needs it.
You know how impressive Kusanagi's win is? Look at the button Kusanagi has to use the most with Ryu - st.Jab. That's Ryu's best button to handle neutrals - compare that to the buttons the rest of the characters in the top 8 use the most. Basically Ryu's neutral is bad in a game where everyone has mega buttons.
Ryu's stHP is one of the best buttons in the game, lmao. Huge range, leads to great damage, good for confirms and it is special cancellable. It's insane how not even a major win stops the insane downplaying. Ryu is good. If y'all spent less time whining and more time labbing, maybe you'd start winning too.
@@Raxyz_0Ah yes, Ryu is so good that he wasn't making it top 30 in major tournaments for a while. What was Xiohai thinking while Kusanagi throwing him 6 times… Throw loop is actually strong and there’s ways to escape easily from it. But what about when you’re fighting against a player who is going to win the tournament with just one round, and you have low health AND had been blocked reversal OD several times!! Do we have braveness to press OD shoryu or back dash at this moment? Even Xiohai hasn’t. That’s serious mind game right there. I love these two players well played.
Throw loop isn't a big problem, it's SFV that made people get too comfy in the corner. It was just "take the throw" and react to the following offense. It's an annoyance at best that people blow it out of proportion because they get salty about the loss. Case in point, SFIV also had throw loops and people to this day consider it a shining example of balancing.
@@azizkash286 I'm not saying they're fun. I'm arguing it's not that big of a deal as people make it out to be. Nerf Ryu and Cammy Capcom. Ryu should be nerfed because the power of nothingness reflects a bank's ability to print money out of nothing and fool the public into believing it has value.
Yup. It's one of the reasons why it's so significant. The man worked 180% to everyone's 100%. When people pick a high tier character they can coast but when you pick Ryu you need to work damn hard. All this is simply unfair and something capcom badly needs to address via balancing. Because of this, this wicked wall that Ryu players have to try and climb over, Kusunagi's victory was a major achievement for he has made history despite using shenanigans to help his victory/s.
Tier is just a measurement of how feasible a character can be used to win. You will have an easier time with Top Tiers, but that doesn't mean a low or mid tier cannot win.
