All the people blasting his vocals in the comments, y'all do realise it's just a soundcheck right? No reason for him to sing at his 100% and strain his vocals for nothing. Check out AVA's recent performances and you'll know he sounds fantastic.
Some people have never been to one before or know what the point of a soundcheck is. It's just to make sure everything is working, sound levels are right... You're right, this isn't a performance.
@@TheRoarWithin he actually sings pretty well live now. Better than he has in ages. Sure he's still Tom, but he's leagues better than he was during the Love era and even blink reunion.
He wouldn’t been straining if he sang correctly. I’d agree that it is just a soundcheck but you still need to sing as if you’re performing it for real for the vocal levels. Not bashing anyone or Tom. I don’t mind his vocals. Thats just my take on it. Keep using that BCR Guitar, Tom!
Tom could sound just like on the album if only he engaged his abs a little more. Also I feel like he's very insecure about his singing. He used to kind of scream out the notes and it sounded great. Sometimes he still does it in songs like "The war" - he should go back to this older singing style, which worked best for him.
AvA is my favorite band, so it pains me to realize that Tom is a pretty lousy singer. I believe the only reason he sounds good on albums is due to lots of post-production work. Having said that, I'm really looking forward to seeing them in concert again here in a few more weeks.
@@DavidCourtney technology (auto tune, pitch correction, compression, tripple tracked panned vocals) is what makes him sound good on an album. He could never sing live tho. Even the blink live album is all doctored up. He has never knew how to sing well. But he is still awesome.
@@jonathanoakley88 Have you heard this demo of Rebel Girl? I think Tom sounds really good. I'm not sure how much "help" he got from technology in this demo, but it seems far less processed than normal. ruclips.net/video/8GHrngzbVPw/видео.html
@@DavidCourtney compressed, doubled and panned. Still processed to death lol I've been recording music since 2002 so its not an ignorant observation. The demo is cool tho.
@@dylanburton4955 if it's one beat out it's completely wrong as it's not the correct beat. I also don't think he's freestyling it, as he gets more into the correct bass drum pattern towards the end. He just fucked up.
@@murph6802 As a drummer of 15 years, the feel is intact and it doesn't offset the rest of the rhythm section in any janky or unpleasantly syncopated way. To say a beat is wrong because of the placement of a single bass drum hit is nonsense - if the feel is still there, who honestly cares?
Does anybody hear how bad Tom's live voice is? I mean, I'm a big fan of Blink 182, AVA and all other bands from Tom and Mark and also the instrumentals and album versions are amazing, but the live voice is horrible. In my opinion that destroys the amazing songs the most. Would somebody sing these songs with a really good voice then I would definitely go to concerts.
One of angels most underrated songs from their first album. Lucky people!
I’ve loved this song for a decade or more
My 2nd favorite AVA song. I never seen a concert live from physical problems. One day, I hope. Love AVA. My 2nd fave band too
So dope they played this
I was also there at the soundcheck!! It was really a great experience!
Was the place packed?
@@claudiogouveia2424 during soundcheck? Definitely not. I would say about 15-20 people showed up for the VIP Soundcheck party if anything.
@@sebastianruiz.x Crazy!! But i was asking in the concert.
@@claudiogouveia2424 oh ! Then during the concert it got filled up pretty quick!
What time did the soundcheck party start at this show?!
Start the machine with the BCR guitar is epic!!
Thanks for posting this bro! ❤️

He just sounds like this live every time though. Such a shame. They’d be a bigger band if he could still sing.

Tom plays this song still and his vocals are good 😊
Who you are trying to lie to? 🙉
This is awesome. Thank you for this!!
That guitar 🤘🤟🤙
Brilliant 👏
Bro recorded more of him breathing into the camera mic than the band.
😂 I love sarcasm the world needs more of it
Bad ass show
2:15 kinda sound like me when I'm drunk 😆
a short reminder
Kenji Shinoda Kobayashi 🇯🇵 from Shinjuku Japan 🇯🇵 ❤️ first album angels and Airwaves we don't need to whisper album 👍

🙉This vocals... People, please stop writing that he sings well while being on spot few times per song :P - biggest Tom fan
shhh
Well, I actually sincerely like the Tom live singing haha, got used to it around the years
lol people finding out what a soundcheck sounds like for the first time in the comments
they were selling VIP tickets?
How early did they do the sound check?
They let us in at 4:15 and started Soundcheck 30 mins later

I wonder why tom is tone deaf in concert? He comes up with great melodies and records but live he seems to struggle staying in tune

Ilan out here playing completely the wrong drum beat 😂
It’s not really “completely” wrong, it’s fairly close but he doesn’t need to play it exactly like the studio version
