This was such a comforting watch. And yes there were some repetitive scenes but the overall pacing was good and this was a good binge for me. I loved the chemistry between the characters.
I was brought up Catholic in an Italian family. The cultural and religious clashes in 'Nobody wants this' hit close to home with me. Hilarious, heartfelt and sometimes car crash cringe, I have loved this series! Watching from Australia, which adds its own complications!! 🐨🇦🇺🦘
I loved this watch and overall agree that this show centered on the complex dynamics of family. I also felt that the show tackled the complicated dynamics of people who get together when one is very religious. Although it is not what happens all the time, there is an expectation on the non-religious person that they would conform/convert to the religion. Although we did see Joanne have some strong maturing moments over the show, we also saw her become different, making a great deal of concessions. Where Noah stayed the same. Complicated dynamics mirroring societal dynamics that the show reflected well.
As someome with insecure attachment and childhood emotional neglect from parents I enjoyed the consistency of solved issues. I felt a heart dip but it was brought back without intense pain. The characters showed an intense desire to love each other in the correct ways. Totally perfectly cheesy. Healthiest romantic relationship I have EVER freaking seen consider screen time. Very cute. I enjoy the push and pull. I also don't hate ANY of the characters. They all seem to serve a point or just are good at acting. Characters are well rounded it feels like.
Throughout I felt they were an unbelievable (fake) couple and I didnt get why Joanne liked him. He said things that women want a guy to say but it didn't feel true to his character. Maybe Brody just isnt a believable actor, he is my only critique. Overall the series was good and I loved all the other characters, the jokes were on point.
I just got bored. I Find American women's voices so raucous and shouty, so it was hard to like Joanne. Noah is OK, but I actually don't care about their characters or what happens to them. Very disappointed. Too American too loud - no sublety in characterisations. Sorry. I'm sure I've offended. 😮

Haven't seen a good romcom in a while (have Hit Man on our list too) - will have to give this a shot, cheers Chris!

This just sounds sappy, and I am in!! Going to binge it this weekend
Enjoy!!
Not new, but my go to romcon is My Big Fat Greek Weeding. 😂❤
I really like this show!
But, it’s weird to me that both Kristin Bell and Justine Lupe are wearing dark colored contact lenses.
Thought it would've been better as a movie
i liked this series. i just saw a movie (romcom & coming of age) that I know u would love too - My Old Ass staring Aulbrey Plaza
I went between “this show sucks” and “this show is awesome” mostly because the writing sucks but actors are great
Spot on review!
Interesting! Thx.
Started it, so far so good!
Cool

Is it similar to virgin river?
It's not as sappy and there's a little more realism to the interactions, but just as bingeable.
Not at all. But it's good kind of different.
I didn't think so.
