  • Invasive grasses such as bracharia can be a big problem when dealing with degraded lands. Anything you try to plant, will likely be buried quickly in grasses, and can get lost.
The modern solution, poisons such as roundup, simply don't work. Sure they 'kill' the grass at first, but it just comes right back. Plus, poisons can have long term negative effects on the land.
Are there any solution? Today I have three for you.

We got the pirolytic reactor body together. Hopefully by next week we'll have the stove too and start doing testing!! We're racing to win 😜

How wild that roundup doesn't even work and it poisons everyone

It is the most fascinating thing about these 'modern' agriculture practices. It is extremely degrading to the soil, but the lowest level plants, hearty invasives like bracharia grasses only 'die' for about a week.

    Grassy Ass. .nice video.
Do u have tree that drop their nettles to create a clearing underneath?
Is that greenhouse a portable one? Plastic? What special herbs do u use that for?

It is actually a drying rack inside, these 'marquesina' are common in coffee regions to sun dry the washed beans.
I have used it for drying herbs and even bracharia grass, which I chop and use as a replacement for straw for all the things I need straw for. It gets hot enough that all the grass seeds fall out.

How can I make a living doing what you are? Is this your only job?

Great question, I think I will make a video just about that.
Right now I work some part time freelance remote work to support my 'farming habit', its true, but it is very possible to make a living doing this, and I am working towards that! There are challenges but a lot of opportunity to find value in many species of plants, bushes and trees.

@@EcoInstant Gotcha! I appreciate the response! I’m 20 years old, living in Atlanta right now, and in the past few years have found my passion in Syntropic Agroforesty. I hope to eventually follow in your footsteps as I believe Syntropic Agroforestry is part and parcel of a global movement to heal the planet and heal humanities relationship to nature. Thank you so so much for taking the time to share your journey. I’m rooting for you!! And for humanity!!
