    Thanks for the video! Planning a trip to Houston to go ride Boardwalk Bullet soon.

    My home park! I’ve ridden these rides many, many times. If you come on a weekday, it’s fairly easy to marathon the big rides. My personal favorites are Flare, Drop Zone, and of course Boardwalk Bullet. Drop Zone is legit one of my favorite drop towers because of the airtime. I grew up riding the Bullet, and it has definitely gotten a lot smoother over the years. One of the more underrated wood coasters out there. Hopefully someday Six Flags or Cedar Fair will notice us in Houston, but until then at least we have Kemah :)

    Glad you enjoyed Kemah in my neck of the woods. I saw the park evolve especially the railroad. I remember the tunnel before theming. Filmed the Bullet being built and captured some footage atop the Boardwalk Tower. Kemah is a great "get away" for rides, shopping, dining. One of my New Years rituals was to watch the fireworks @ 10 pm from Bubba Gumps Patio. Still make it home by mid night and watch the neighborhood fire works. The Beast is STILL fun, though they cut the speed from 60mph to 40 which would save a lot of fuel. At Christmas time they have a "boat parade" That's a lot of fun too.

    Ha! I rode only the train and Boardwalk Bullet, and still it was worth the long drive to get there from San Antonio.

    Boardwalk Bullet is so amazing, still my # 2 in the state! I love those top 3 rides, and the atmosphere and setting is so nice. I was able to get a good deal on a weekend pass that included Galveston's pier.

    I was able to visit while on a business trip to Houston. I only got to pop in quickly and ride Bullet. But it still looked like a cool place overall.

    Are you going to return to Texas next summer? I'd love to hear your perspective of the new Dr. Diabolicals Cliffhanger at Six Flags Fiesta Texas and maybe even a review of the Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier if you're out there. Maybe that could be an opportunity to visit the Schlitterbahn waterparks as well.

      I'd like to get down to Texas soon. Just not sure on the best time between the heat and new rides opening.

    During my most recent visit I realized that if you move the wings just right, you can essentially “snap” Aviator in the same way that you can snap flying scooters. I was able to get some extremely out-of-control rides on it, and it’s my personal #3 in the park (behind Drop Zone and Bullet of course).

      I've never gotten much side-to-side action on those aviator rides when I use the fins.

    I hope Houston gets a new large theme park soon to replace Six Flags Astroworld. its a shame they only have 2 smaller boardwalk parks for such a huge city

    Everyone talks about Boardwalk Bullet which is of course the star attraction here but the other flats are actually perfect for me. Larson Drop Towers are one of my favorite non coaster rides ever, probably my favorite of drop towers. And Pharaoh's Furys are the best swinging ships because they have pretty much no restraint besides a bar that doesn't touch you.

    If I had to best describe this place it would be "Upscale Carnival". I definitely look forward to spending some time here, doing a little shopping, taking a few rides on the Gravity Group's impressive coaster, and preparing my lungs as I get ready to boo the heck out of those dastardly Astros.
    Alex Bregman will hear the boos so loud it will sound like twenty Boardwalk Bullet riders at once.

    • @michaeltaylor1603
      @michaeltaylor1603 Год назад +3

      Nope! It's a matter of land prices and NIMBY. Not In My Back Yard. There was controversy over Bullet when it was being built. You need about 200-300 acres to build something of quality. You'd have Kemah, Galveston, San Antonio market to compete with. You'd have to "Over Pull" Fiesta + Six Flags o TX. attendance with combined it would need to be over 6 million visitors per year. That's more than what Knott's Berry Farm pulls in annually. TO far to the coast (hurricanes) Kemah got some wrath from Ike. Who knows? If they kept AW watch Ike would have done to it? Re-invest or close it & take insurance $$$.

      @michaeltaylor1603 Год назад

      @@jackpowers5707 So "zoning" in Houston/Galveston area is peculiar. The 1 acre spot used for the coaster, there was a ladies vacation home they wanted to purchase to make the coaster even larger. She wouldn't sell. Media made it out that it was her primary home. If you ride the ride or go down that dead end road, you'll see the coaster mere feet from the home. LOL!
