In California they’re more likely to arrest the victim than the perp. What a backwards state. One of these videos the other day said in California the police just don’t show up to crashes. I mean, how do you go thru the insurance without a police report. Anyone still in that state deserves what they’re getting because they voted for it
NOTHING MORE SATISFYING than watching a thief being chased and caught!
Especially right in the middle of SF

@@tangowally Thats a fair point. Similar to us here in New Zealand. We've got rising crime but nothing is being done about it.

I can’t say how much I love this guy!! He is probably even better to work for! Living for this! ❤️
Once I saw a car driving down the street riding on a rim, sparks flying. I started following and called the cops. Normally, you talk with an operator who relays info to a dispatcher, but as soon as I described the vehicle I got connected directly to a dispatcher, so I knew it was serious. I could hear other people in the background saying “CPS” (child protective services) as I continued to tell the dispatcher where we were. In less than a minute, an unmarked unit swooped in between me and them and lit them up. They turned a corner, and I continued straight. I had to turn around to get back to where I’d been heading, and when I drove by again, there were a dozen cop cars behind the vehicle, lights going and guns drawn! Turned out it was a kidnapping suspect on the run.
Don’t just ignore the crazy stuff you see, call it in! You could be saving a child’s life.
That has me wondering if there was a reward for information leading to arrest and conviction of the suspect. Certainly sounds like it could have been rewarding.
You are amazing, good sir.
Imagine kidnapping a child and proceeding to be one of the most obvious cars in traffic.
How could you see their guns as they were driving past you?
@@freedomhonkhonk5169 re-read it buddy, then play it back in your head.
This video makes me feel real good, about justice being served in a case that usually slips through, and being a Tesla owner.
what justice? the thief was released on no bail, WTF are you talking about???
Doesn't know about San Francisco's justice system being absolute dog shit
Not sure about final outcome, but you rarely see police respond to these calls, much less catch the person on the street. Sure there may not have been true justice served, but more came out of this than most cases.
@@thelastninja4825 Curious on how you know the entire case? of No Bail and released.
@JGN_YT its San Francisco , no bail needed for non violent crimes , like new York
Finally someone who isn't going to ignore crime. Awesome job at tracking them down and following her.
Good job bro we need more people like you in the world..
I've only had the opportunity to do something like this once.
Spotted an accident and one car ran, so I followed - a bit more aggressively than this Tesla - while on the phone with police.
The dispatcher said I should fall back and let them go. I said "Look, you get some blue lights out here to stop this guy, or I am going to stop this guy. Either way, he's going to be stopped. The way he's driving, it might be cross traffic that he hits."
Turns out I was right. Two minutes later a squadcar blew past me to take up the chase and almost immediately the runner blew a red light and got T-boned by a big ass landscaping truck going 45mph (or thereabouts).
Turns out it was a female runner. No license (DUI suspension), no insurance, and drunk.... and after getting landscaped, *severely* fucked up.
"getting landscaped" lmao

thx for doing this, but always think about your safety first!
He did a good job of keeping a fairly safe distance while keeping the thief in sight..though he’s lucky it wasn’t an armed, hardened criminal who would have possibly fired off some shots at the person following them. Worked out well thankfully 👍
Quite different that it was a female.
I wonder if that "thief" were a police officer. This story is too good to be true. If you would demonstrate how a Police Department works, you'd have a skilled driver playing the role of car thief. Right, an officer.
@Michaels Carport A two ton brick that will do 0-60 in 3 seconds.

@@tommydong8070 I was going to say, don't they have red light cameras in San Fran? If so, he may have wracked up quite a bill. I hope not, though. Justice was served here. Rampant crime needs to be tamped down on.
@@VesperAegis Stealing a car won't kill anybody, while running across red lights could.. If that happened he would not be the hero, no justice would have been served, just another injustice. Where is the limit? The car was insured anyway.
@@marsovac Stealing a car could kill someone through 4 or 5 degrees of separation of causality - we don't know the exact situation that person is in. If they're in a situation say, where a family member has cancer and they're about to lose their job, their child is going through hard times in school, etc etc then that car being stolen and having to go through the rigors of either finding it or getting a new one could be the "straw that tips the camel's back" in terms of an added stressor.
That being said, I would say judge the context of every red right you run through - how many of them looked dangerous in this particular video? I would say very few if any after having watched it. Not justifying running red lights in general, but I appreciate this man tracking down a criminal and reducing holistic crime when people should obviously be looking for better, more sustainable, more productive ways of income rather than taking other peoples' things through their hard work. Using one's own brain to become self-sufficient in society is one of the capstones of being human, and any justification that leads to abdicating that responsibility is a net loss for society holistically - and engenders more crime to boot.
@@VesperAegis nothing is certain, except for which one wins the risk probability
I’ve actually met Rich before and Spro is awesome. As a resident of SF, the rampant crime rate is just astounding and annoying. Well done for stopping this crime! You’re the hero this city deserves.
the chance for him to find the theft after she got off the car was epic. usually at that point, when you u-turned, you were kinda lost where to find....really nice job
Until more people decide to stand up against criminal activity it will not stop.

I am definitely doing my part to get revenge on thieves and thugs. I am a main data source for all the scammers in India and nigeria. I share the personally identifiable information of convicted thieves with every scammer that I come across in the hopes that these thieves full victim to scams and lose every penny they have.
I have also created thousands upon thousands of Photoshop images and memes of convicted thieves. The one guy even threatened to commit suicide if another person asked him if he was gay because of an image that was created of him kissing his own daddy. At least that thief got off of social media right after that. But yeah I'm definitely doing my part to make these scumbags as miserable as possible.

This was one of the most satisfying thief videos ever. Thank you.
This guy was amazing and this episode was intense!! So happy that his baker got the car back and this was a good thing to do.
I was involved in a similar incident years ago but instead of a car theft it was a hit and run. Long story short, I chased down a hit and run driver who blew through a red light and hit me. Turns out he was driving on a suspended license with no insurance because he had a vehicular manslaughter charge on him. He didn't get away but I don't know what happened to him after the police got involved. I was not charged for chasing him down but the police still had him detained when I was given the ok to leave.
I'm not condoning this kind of behavior, however I'd like to think that I may have saved a life that morning by doing what I did. I live in small town southern Oregon so who knows where he could have disappeared to if he got away, and who he could have hurt if he wasn't stopped. I wish I had a dashcam at the time.
Not only do I condone this kind of behavior, I encourage it.
There wasn't anything they could charge you with. It is legal to break minor laws to stop a major one. Running a stop sign or speeding (minor infractions) to follow a vehicle that hit and ran (generally a felony) is a perfect example of that.
I think a lot of people forget that in the US, police are not the only people with the power of arrest, all citizens have that ability. Police just have a higher allowance of what they are allowed to do to effect that arrest.
No one remembers a coward. Good work mate Ill remember you in Sweden thanks for your help ❤

Best video i saw on youtube today :D thank you!
Glad it turned out well. 100% that car would have been gone if he didn't chase after it. SF is known for absurd levels of (un-prosecuted) crime right now.
Corrupt politicians who commit theft on a massive scale don’t support prosecuting thieves for some reason. I have no idea why. 🤷♂️

Holy cow that was great! My heart was pumping for him lol. I can totally see why he would do this since he is looking out for the best interest of his employee.
Places like San Francisco and other dense urban cities have become a cesspool for crime where the justice system favors criminals over the victims. Hope to see more people step up from this madness to do something.
. 👍🙂👍
Yep, it's sad. These politicians don't have to live in the affected areas so they don't care at all.
All it takes is acting on crime to do something about bringing it down. Years of slaps on the wrist get you this... That person probably has a mile long list of prior crimes and was probably out on the street again less than 24hrs later.
Vigilantism is on the rise though, I saw a nice story about a thief that stole a car with a kid in it (and absolutely did not care about the kid) and people from multiple neighborhoods came together to chase the car down. A neighbor ended up pinning the guy to a fence with his car and would not release him till the police got there!
It's dangerous because you can get shot, but people are absolutely sick of it and take their chances.
well , these SF residents keep voting those lunatic liberals
year after year, so, they deserve it
Thats Democrats for you.
Thank you Tesla person for doing this. Car theft, although rarer, is still an issue here in SF. Like this is ridiculous. A gang once broke into my grandparent's house and stole their car and drove it through the garage door.

Also, to the other guy, the DA is to a degree in charge of the poloce because they decide if they are gonna charge someone for a crime. If you see a DA isnt going to charge for a crime, why pursue the people breaking the laws?
@@vandreadparty because y'all defunded them tf
@@vandreadparty fair point but I would rather a SF DA focus on SF crimes and not use the city to push some national criminal justice reform agenda. Also not a fan of the SF DA being a former public defender, talk about asking a fox to guard a hen house.
@@virtuousoutlaw What is wrong with public defenders? Everyone needs representation, remember innocent until proven guilty. My overall point still stands, SF has had these problems for years and in some cases decades, and blaming the new DA who has been there for 5 mins does not help. We need to catch thieves because I’m tired of them always getting away without consequences. We need someone like him.
Never leave with a low SOC - then you'll catch any car thief 💪
Hopefully Rich didn't get into trouble for some minor traffic violations?
Anything over 30% SoC should be ok. Even punching it across lights, you're not even challenging the capabilities of the car. The average speed should be fairly low, so the range should be long enough for either the police to show up or the idiot making a mistake.
Wow Rich took risks blowing through red lights, but I'm really glad justice is served.
Agreed... but since it was early and little traffic... I'd like to think I would have done the same. In the middle of the day? Maybe not... but then again, the thief would have had to deal with the traffic as well...
Not just risks going thru the lights. As others have mentioned, could have been an armed thief. Kudos to him though, he followed as responsibly as he could have.

The real question is, how many red lights/stop signs did Rich blow through and get ticketed for? LOL
None. It is legal to break minor laws (running a red light) to stop/prevent major ones (grand theft auto). Rich didn't actually do anything illegal, and his dash cam footage would also prove he wasn't being reckless while doing so either. More like cops won't do it alone if you abandon the pursuit of the stolen vehicle and person (they just give you a crime reference number + insurance problem, for police it's not there issue just a statistic)
Once you start following them it becomes a liability issue for the police if they don't respond once you refuse to back off, the operator can't prevent you from doing it (but unfortunately a lot of people do obey and the stolen car or hit and run driver gets away with it)
@@leexgx preach it brother!!! I’ve followed drunks and road ragers and dispatch every single time told me to stop and hell no I’m not stopping!!! Come get this dude or people will get hurt. What this world needs is more freaking accountability. Integrity. And a frigging back bone.
It's time to show these themes who their bosses are and make these thieves submit to their masters. Fortunately for all the scammers in India and nigeria, the personally identifiable information belonging to a convicted car thief is fair game and not protected by the privacy act.
Last person who stole from me got a tactical dose of life-changing whoop ass.
He stole an old laptop that he was supposed to be fixing for me. It was probably only worth about 50 bucks or so.
Right after he moved out of his mother's house and into an apartment with his girlfriend and two children, it was me who reported him to CPS for child abuse and drug dealing on the street corner. It completely changed that thief's life. I would do it all again if needed.
That punk also got permanently banned from all government assistance programs because he was reported for selling his food stamps balance for drug money. I also photoshopped him kissing a random dude at the bar when they were both drunk. His girlfriend broke up with him because she thought he cheated on her for a guy. So yeah I don't play nicely with people who steal from me and I encourage others to retaliate in kind against all thieves. Even if it's just a $20 pair of headphones or something inexpensive like that.
MAKE THIEVES MISERABLE AND MAKE THEM SUFFER. Then maybe they will stop being thieves.
