Shoutouts to Playmaker being the only Yu-protag you don't start the series with. He's the last one you unlock. But likely to not spoil the return of AI. Really great how this mobile game gives fans of the anime more story where the animations left off. Especially the reveal that Duel Links IS part of the VRAINS world. That was really epic and kind of confirms the canon of the game.
This song reminds us that even if your best friend tried destroying the whole fucking world, you can befriend him again and all the pain Ai and Playmaker went throught the whole show.
Knowing that AI did go through everything he went through in the anime and yet is still alive, made that part where Playmaker admits he does care about Ai as a friend hit so much more. Sure AI kind of mocks him a bit for it, and playmaker brushes it off coldly, but you know deep down they're as inseparable as Yuma and Astral. The song captures that tense friendship so perfectly.
When playing master duel and cyberse monsters this theme song is a must. Unfortunately i would have to have another device or second phone or computer to listen to this while playing master duel

However, I did listen to Vrains' dub opening which is for the first time ever, an English version to the Japanese version. So there is a chance I'm wrong for Vrains. But since I did watch the sub, the music in Duel Links (Vrains) does sound simular to the sub counterpart.

A mix of melancholy and hope with both the piano and violin. Not bad for a theme, not bad at all. This might be my new favorite, next to Ute/Yuto, Yusei, Jack and Aki's themes in DLs.
It's very similar to Yami Yugi's theme in being a more serious yet heroic theme. Having a kind of Shonen hero feel to it and comes full circle as SEVENS would have an entirely new way of dueling. So it comes full circle with Playmaker, the "last story character" you unlock for Speed Duel.
