I love doing this in my mini find someone who is clearly out for a play and follow them overtaken if safe obviously and have a bit of fun.
For a procharged 5.0 that is not pulling that mini as fast as I would expect. Your car must be fast as hell. Great video.
1994 5.0... completly different from the 2017 coyote 5.0's
You could also see it was smoking from the left exhaust Bank. Maybe a tired engine?

Thanks man! I have a rear cage in my car and the GoPro is mounted on the harness bar. Before I had a cage/fixed backs, I used a headrest mount for a different camera and just slapped a sticky mount onto it.

hey man where did you get that steering wheel? and what brand? awesome video digging your set up been looking to run aftermarket quick release for my car but only seeing nrg wheels and not too interested in those.
The steering wheel is just an eBay 350mm flat suede wheel. Not the most rigid thing in the world but it works great and was worth every penny. The quick release is a Sparco knock off and has a bit of play in it. The actual Sparco unit is over $300 and the knock off is $25 so you get your pros with your cons.

Just wondering. Is that a 4/5 point harness? If so make sure you have a roll bar or cage in it. A 4+ point harness without one doesn't let the seat fold like a standard seat belt. So in a rollover you end up crushing your spine and all things above it. Looks like a fun ride though!
I have a custom 4pt half cage with an X and proper harness bar height. Regardless, 4 point harnesses scare me even with ASM!
Ah couldn't see it in frame, and see so many people run those harnesses without any bar at all.
Yeah man, super dangerous. I also see a lot of properly mounted harnesses at dangerous angles. Not good.
What always gets me is the full caged and harnessed cars on the street. You know the ones. The cage is about 2 inches from the drivers head, no helmet of course. Not sure what they think is going to happen during a minor accident, but it ends in zombie food buffet.

I can take the stang with the 396 stroked with d-1 procharger, I know he's got the procharger with that sound I know it well👍👍 but only the f-1 has been able to take my d-1 awesome video man

Nope, stock clutch and stock (facelift) gearing. It is very short though.

hey mike nice driving, i have a 05 mcs and my shifter is very stiff, i think it needs transmission fluid but ive read its a common problem. have you had this problem?

I can't say I have, both of my r53 shifters have felt very nice. I have the cravenspeed shifter on there now with no issues.

I've been loving mine. I leave it on Logic mode and it seems to work well in my area. It has definitely saved me a few times...
I have found that the Logic mode in the little L works best for me on my uh, little travels :)

Yes stock intercooler but no temp issues. It's probably worth upgrading to a larger one but so far mine has been fine.

I was ripping around in mine the other day thinking, you know your car is using fuel efficiently when it's exploding in the exhaust whenever you're off the throttle.
+dontreplykillyourself well it's actually chopping the throttle and creating a poor air/fuel ratio when hopping off the gas. Basically the injectors keep spraying a bit as if it were getting 100% air when it really is getting much less, so it runs really rich for a moment. Then when the unburnt fuel hits the header or cat it burns rapidly creating that popping noise.

I loved having the sunroof in my old car but it was easy to get used to a full roof. I prefer it now that the car has turned into a bit of a racecar haha

Making the Mini comfortably able to keep up with my buddy would be the next plan haha. I also have an EF Civic hatch that needs a build. I don't necessarily have a next vehicle in mind as I still have plans for my current cars, but I do have a lengthy list in my head...

SuperBoris1976 Yes I have. My full mod list is on Wheelwell.com if you're interested. The exhaust is very loud and drones out the supercharger whine. It is more noticeable in person but on camera it kind of gets lost.
Seems like a really rough ride for factor suspension. And what's up with all the dash lights on?
Kevin Willcuts It has full suspension (coilovers, control arms, sway bar, poly bushings, etc). Dash lights are on for no airbag/seatbelt due to aftermarket wheel and harnesses. Engine light is on due to being fully catless.
Mike Baker Pretty impressive! Any way to get a Mini dealership to block or trick those sensors from coding out?
Kevin Willcuts I actually had it cleared up for a little while by using a Vibrant O2 simulator. That worked well enough to pass inspection but the light did come back on eventually. As far as I know it can't be permanently cleared.

+MrSXys WildRide It's an OMP steering hub and a knock off 350mm flat suede wheel. I ditched the steering wheel shortly after this video for an OMP deep dish 350mm suede wheel.

How easy is it to install the cravenspeed short shifter? And do you like it better than the stock shifter?
The install wasn't bad, the only tough part was getting the dust cover to fit. It needs to be dremeled a bit. It feels great and I like it much more than the stock shifter
Thanks! And when you dremel the dust cover, did you have to add on a cover that's an inch long so the shifter would clear it? Or did you just cut a hole into the dust cover? Thinking about getting a cravenspeed short shifter in a few weeks, gotta find a knob for it though.
I just cut out the original dust cover to fit the new shifter. No new covers needed. Search on eBay for a shift knob. There are some nice ones for cheap. The Cravenspeed shifter uses a universal thread pattern. M1.25x80 I believe.

Well, I got my cravenspeed short shifter installed with the shift well cover. Took about 5 hours considering my exhaust bolts are sieze. And when I put it all back together, the exhaust or heat sheild is in the way so it won't go to the shortest throw, but it's still pretty short.
Are those radar things legal now? Do they even work in all states?
The legality depends on the state. They work the same everywhere in that it detects radar signals. If you're in a state where they use often use laser then it may not be as useful but where I am this thing is a life saver.

Sleeper Cell you're probably thinking of the R56 engine, which was garbage. R53's have the W11 motor which is pretty stout.
Yep, thats the engine I have in mine. I'm having my second head gasket fitted right now. If it blows again im scrapping the car for good. Great car. worst nightmare of an engine.

No mine is the R53, its a dark metallic grey one. If it causes me any more problems i'm getting a Mk5 Golf GTI
How much hp was each car? Is 220hp good for a 2002mini s?
We're not really sure how much power the mustang is making as it has yet to be on the dyno. Yes, 220whp is a decent number for an R53.

+JosephCorleone I haven't raced a ton of vehicles with this set up but from what I can remember off of the top of my head: MKV GLI (stock) before I had a header/decat. 2003 Ford Powerstroke with intake, straight turbo back exhaust, and programmer. 2015 HEMI Ram 1500 (stock).

Catless straight pipe cold air intake ebay steering wheel and harness. I'd say spend most of your money on good wheels and tires and maybe a tune. That what I'd do.

JB+ ecu and a good cold air intake from K&N preferably AEM (better) and a bola exhaust. You will have a brand new car fro under $800. If your budget is half go with the JB+ and a slip in AEM take filter.
You will thank me. Also, these modes are actually not harmful to your engine and won't compromise your engine life.
Alta pulley's only run 100 bucks.

Funny thing is mate if you where driving against that car in the video on the streets of England where the r53 mini was designed for you would destroy him we have like hardly any roads that stay straight unless it's a motorway all are roads are windy narrow and you can leave any big powerful car in the dust well any poor handling big cars I left bmw family saloon cars for dead audi as well not the s or RS version but the normal ones and there 5x the price of the mini the r53 on the roads where I live especially in the middle of nowhere all countryside roads there is very few people who can keep up if you drive this car right get the suspension set up correctly and get amazing tyres and lightweight wheels it's honestly next to unrivalled in the corners.
