Growing up in Washington state they never talked about Lewis and Clark having an air gun when we had to have Washington State History. To those who don't know Lewis and Clark had a 46 caliber air gun that was made by Austrian watchmaker. The technology has been around for a long time it just never got put in place

Where are all of those clowns that said you can't use an airgun for home defense? I have a few that will work fine for 1 shot 1 kill.

I grew up with a 10 pump Crossman .177. I never would have imagined that there would ever be a big game air rifle. I've seen the Hammer .50 drop a buffalo, elk etc. I believe this would drop an elephant with good placement. Totally amazing power. Hats off to AEA. It's on my list, but not until I'm fully retired and go on a big game hunt with it. It's just too much for anything around here. Let alone plinking with lol.

Does the suppressor add to the velocity?
Also, I thought that air gun suppressors are supposed to be permanently attached to make them legal. At least that’s the way it used to be.
I can’t decide if I want the 24 or the 32 inch.

Awesome review! You really took the mystery out of the Zeus. Crazy how an airgun can shoot over 1000 ft-lbs and still not be considered a firearm because no gunpowder just like the hand pumped PCP hunting rifle used on the Lewis and Clark expedition. I chrono’d my Gamo Swarm Magnum at 29 ft-lbs and my Air Venturi Avenger Bullpup can beat that. But damn compared to the Zeus I’m only shooting spit wads!

In my country, any air rifle over .22 is considered a firearm.
@@clifton6919 I am also aware that in some countries, any air rifle that fires over 500 fps is a firearm, in others, any air rifle with a muzzle energy over 12 foot-pounds of energy is a firearm.

Best video yet. That was awesome and a good grouping. Wow it blew a hole right threw the frying pan. With the lead I thought it was just going to leave a massive dent . That is a great big game air gun. That will take down a bison elk deer I mean probably anything in America 🇺🇸. Again great video.

AEA needs to regulate this rifle, it would shoot slower, but you'd get more shots per fill, plus less pressure drop with each shot
I agree...give me 6 regulated shots with 900 FPE. I'll take that everyday for hunting.👍🏻
They have long range match version .58cal zeus with regulator. 500FPE 12shots per filling. You can found this testing video.

It would be interesting to see the 58 & 72 pitted against each other for groups at 100 yards... how many shots will group inside a 8" target without holdover adjustment at 100 yds? Can you get 3 inside a 8" target using same aim point for each shot? With the fpe these rifles make, you would expect that power easily allows ethical kills at 100 yards if the accuracy allows.

I think I'll stick with my American made Airforce Texan LSS CF 50cal it's more than adequate to take down any Big Game in North America. Also, it's more stealthy if noise is a concern and better for long distance shooting with high accuracy. This gun seems more like a novelty item if you really need this kind of power it makes more sense just to buy a firearm imo.
If we all liked the same thing how fun would that be different strokes for different folks

My Zeus has been rock solid. I have about 100 rounds through it now. No issues whatsoever. Happy Shooting!

Actually cheaper to shoot a powder version. Looks interesting, but far from practical.
The only negative is how loud it is? How bout how damn heavy that cannon is? You can wear ear plugs but you aren't gonna be lugging that around in the woods.

Um yes a felon can own one ships right to your front door its a airgun i wouldnt recommend airguns for self defense tho not a fast volume of fire if u need more than one shot but for hunting absolutely u can own one and hunt or whatever u do with it but its legal for people with felonys to own airguns

Yes modern air rifles are greatly underestimated even for 4.5 cal and espeacialy 5.5, but this is a beast lol, i have a Artemis gr1600w 5.5 cal break barrel that shoots around 1400 fps with lead and around 1600 fps with aloy pellets and a bit loud, but that dont matter with the Zeus because its louder even with that huge silencer on and its hitting power is 10 times more and kicks about like a shotgun lmao, thats one crazy air rifle bro 👀, i dont think it would even be allowed here in South Africa and if so a gun licence would be requierd to own one as the rule here is a licence for anything over 5.5 cal sadly but i do understand why, as much as i'd love to own one of these though it would only remain a dream as with many others out there because of crazy prices for a pensioner lol 🤣👍, but just wanna say i was a Ratel gunner in the military so ive shot a lotta big stuff and this air rifle is realy impressive, before we know it we will be going to war with this tech in even bigger scale hehe 👀
Fred, thank you for tuning in, and I really appreciate your comments. It is always fascinating how the different countries rate and value airguns. The only downside is that with the PCP's, you have to depend on an outside air source. So, the uses are really limited to hunting, plinking, and target practice. Happy Shooting Buddy!😉👌🏼
@@AirgunDetectives thank you, yes I agree with that too and that's why I love break barrels so much anyway, especially with the igt tech 👌, all you need is ur break barrel and a tin of ur fav pellets n ur good to go 👍, what I do like about pcp is the cooking action with a magazine with minimal action required that that sort of system allows 👌, I do have a gamo replay ten maxim and it is alot quicker and easier than a conventional pellet gun but still alot more work while out on the range compared to a pcp, until you have to refill the pcp and start pumping or getting out the heavy equipment needed to run it that is lol yes ✌

I don't know why you would say a 5 pound trigger would be good for that gun. When everybody knows a lighter trigger, you'll shoot the gun more accurate. No one wants a 5 pound trigger on anything.

There seems to be an arms race to producing ever larger caliber air rifles. Before you know it, they will be categorized as firearms as they can easily kill a person.
What can you hunt with this monster? Maybe buffalos or rhinos.
It's pointless to have air rifles with this type of caliber. A firearm is a million times easier and more convenient.
Air rifles should stick to small calibers. Larger calibers just don't make sense for air rifles.
